Hi

Looking for some new servos for my EVO 50

Which would be better

JR DS8425's or DS8417's for Elev & Aile

Also just thought, as I am using a JR 8900G on the tail, a Hitec HS5945 Dig Hight Torque on the pitch, the only non dig servo will be on the throttle, will my 4000 NiMH (4x C Cell) pack be up to the job?

Reason i ask this is after a 3 mins I flight my Evo has slid to the right and fallen from the sky ( its done this twice in 5 days) cost of blades mast, feather shaft, frame, boom & landing skids. This is with only two Dig servos. On inspection Aile servo seems ceased, but when I have it back home on the bench it works OK. (servos NES 591's) I have replaced all for new after each crash, but can't risk another £100 plus rebuild for the third time. :arggg:

Thanks mike

I want to stick with JR if I can, but will give these Futaba's a look :D

Even the JR guys fly them, they just cover the label with a piece of tape :D

here we go with the futaba/jr debate again.

I stopped flying futaba because I got tired of crashing due to radio failures.

Any of the higher torque digitals with good ball bearings would be fine, whether it is JR Futaba, Airtronics or HighTech.

The ultra speed servos sometimes end up being slower under high loads, and using more current than a good servo with a decent torque rating.

I flew my Evo 50 with 8411s for a year or so, and they worked really well, they are not digital.

8411s are digital just not recommended for helis. I still have a SWM evo flying with them. I have run 9252s 8311s 8411s 4721s and 8231s and never had a problem with any of them.

gah you are right. The servos I was referring to were 8101s I think. Non digital wide spaced ball bearings, precision servos.

I am still working on getting licensed to be able to speak before I think..... :arggg:

Hi

thanks for all the info. :D

I have gone with JR DS8231's on the Elev & Aile.

Hitec HS5945 on the Pitch and a JR 8900G Red Tail and Hitec HS5925 on the throttle.

Is there a better option for my battery as I will be relying on a 4000 NiMH (4x C Cell) :dontknow

Thanks
Mike
