Big problem, no solution

HI guys

Have been flying the sim with no probs at all for a while, then the other week I changed my graphics card from a readon 1300 to 1650 pro, I also had to do a windows repair but cant remember if I used the sim after,

Anyhow when I come to run the sim, I only get distorted graphics, flickering, inprints left on the screen, and very laggy.

I did a restall of phoenix, and it runs fine but as soon as I do an update the problem returns, I have been talking with phoenix about this and they sent me out a disk with the updated version on it , but still no joy, I have even upgraded my graphics card to the 1950 gt , still no joy.

The only thing I can think of doing now is a windows restall, any thoughts before I open up another can of worms ??

Have you tried updating the drivers for the graphics card? just a thought

Did you uninstall the old ATI Catalyst program before installing the new one? :arggg:

Your new Catalyst suite can also be found here.
FYI you should have uninstalled the hardware (old ATA card) before installing the new card ..... check hardware management and see what your computer thinks it has installed. Do you remember if your computer "Found New Hardware!" after you installed the card? :dontknow

If all else fails register your new card and call ATI support for assistance. There is probably nothing wrong with Phoenix.

Thanks Hughes500 I will have a check on what you said but I am sure I did a clean install, I think that I will call ati fr support I hadnt thought of that, was about to do a windows restall, think I will hold fire till I hae called them .

Yes I'm from medway too, I live in strood not to far from the library, I tend to go for a quick fly at the bottom or broom hill...

I might have to come over and have a look one day.. I mainly fly over Mote Park (maidstone) ..I could do with somewhere closer
