Ben,

Yeah, we got the engine back from Bergen with a new hub, mounts and bolts. She flew great until the ring got stuck on the piston, and caused a very annoying no-start that took a while to troubleshoot. We have a new piston on the way. I'll be changing my oil and mix ratio to prevent that in the future.

Garland,
I don't know anything about the Hanson mods. I guess they may be worth while for 3D, but I wonder if they'd be worth anything for low rpm hovering about.
Bergen has a muffler, but it's $200. We aren't concerned too much about noise where we fly, anyways...military airspace.

Matter of fact, we will be putting in an order for another Observer and two Industrial Twins in the near future. I will also be getting a 60 size nitro on which to train a couple pilots in the shop. The entire deal is about $24,000 worth of helicopters and gear. We will be using all this to test various UAV sensors and some RF networking packages. Some will get fully autonomous autopilots.

Life is good!

Erich

I only have $25K to work with, to get two of each. Turbines would blow that away. Plus, no turbine can fly for over on hour, which is an important criteria we need to meet.

The idea is to have a primary and backup for both the Observer and Ind. Twin, plus training bird and gear. All my guys are heli newbs, one is new to RC completely.

Of course!!

And DJ, Soon as we can get caught up on a couple orders, Greg will be working on the electric Observer for testing.....

Maybe in the future a small MW44 turbine powered version.....or even smaller, the 20cc version......

not enough hours in the day or days in the week.....

Cool!

Having gone that route before, all I can say is ditch the hacker crap.
