Believe it or not: I use a modified cupboard door handle!
It's stainless steel, has the right diameter and thread size, and I didn't need to bend it. Perfect!

I attempted the mod that Bob posted a picture of. As straight forward as it may seem it is quite the opposite. It requires extensive disassembly of the radio which I started to do but then it occured to me by doing the modification I would be voiding my warranty. I don't anticipate something going bad on the radio but you never know, instead I opted for the .47 cent eyebolt mod and what a night and day difference. Incidentally as a result I scratched the outside of the lcd facia cover, the next day I called Horizon to order one and they told me they don't sell internal parts, I would have to send the radio in, after asking for to speak to the manager for an explaination of policy, they opted to sell me one for 5.00 and I received it the next day! The facia panel sticks to the case from the front, easy to replace.

fireup,
How did you make that one?
I milled it manually on-the-fly with a CNC using 0.5" ball endmill and drill. Took about 10 min. total. If I had to program it, it would have taken 1 hr. +, but I could have made a lot more.

rpengfer ..... $13.99 and it's adjustable. :noteworthy I think Spektrum has been doing some great things for the DX line. AR6100e (end pins) and AR6200 (full range mini with satellite Rx like the AR7000). :glasses2:

Of course if you like taking things apart Matt (Tickitytoc) came up with this mod... It requires you do dissassemble the radio though but MAN is it a clean way... He also added a LED in the old hole to show it is on.
I like that setup! What parts do I need to make that work? Just solder it to the switch wires.

XPS have one as well. Not quite as slick, but orderable today: http://www.xtremepowersystems.net/proddetail.php?prod=XPS-BALANCER&cat=12
I did the mod like Bob's radio that (Tickitytoc) came up with. Not the easiest thing to do got to be careful with the lcd. Put a blue led in the left over hole. Works very well. Thanks for the pic Bob and the idea Tickitytoc. :D :glasses2:

Thanks Bull, I will probably end up doing the LED mod, I am just not ready to take my Tx apart right now. I hardly use a strap anyway.
