Have been using nikon 5700 need to upgrade.
pentax k100d 6mg shake reduction
nikon d40 6mg
looking to do 8/10-11/14 raw.
any opions out there

yup... non-DSLR would be A640 all the way. And I gotta say, that for most of my work and the work of others an A640 is all you'd ever need. Especially if you get some accessories like wide converter, UV and polarizing filters

why no SLR? well I can't speak for others but for me.... My clients have been 110% happy with every image I have ever shot with the A640. And that includes some big time marketing firms who see quality images all the time. They love the A640 images and until I start to see any reason why I should use an SLR I'm sticking to a quality P&S camera like the A640.
That said, If I were doing more full scale heli AP I'd buy a DSLR and some lenses for sure since weight is not quite an issue.
