The red wire on my 4-n-1 controller has come off of the circuit board. I am totally new to r/c in general and have NO idea how to re-attach it. It came with this whitish-yellow putty stuff that was originally securing the wire but it was flimsy obviously. This is very aggravating for me as the last couple of evenings have been perfect for flying my new CX2 and I can't do it. I know that this is probably a stupid question to be asking but I'm to the point that I just don't care - I want to fix my heli so I can fly! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :arggg:

My nephew had the same thing happen to his and I cleaned the yellow stuff out of it and resoldered it back on, or I should say in. There is a small hole in the circuit board where the wire end goes in and is soldered from behind. This requires that you take the 4 in 1 off the frame. It's stuck on with 2 sided tape.( I used masking tape to mark all the connectors that have to come off the 4 in 1 to remove it. That way when you hook it back up you will get everything back where it belongs). You will have to take the 4 in 1 apart and carefully seperate the circuit boards inside. They come apart easily with a little tug. Don't twist or bend them just pull them apart gently.

If you can do small solder work you can do this. If not find a friend to help. Heat the broken wire from one side of the board and pull the broken piece of wire out from the other side. Clean the hole good enough to put a new wire end in. Don't over heat it. It should come out easily. Cut and strip a small bit of wire on the good end and tin it,that's pre-soldering the new end to go in the hole. Put the wire in the clean hole and gently heat and solder it from the back side as per original design.

Don't let the solder get bridged between the other wire next to it or anything else on the board. Use a new piece of tape that came with your cx2 and re-attach the assembled 4 in 1 back on the frame. It sounds harder than it is but should work for you. Just remember to take it easy on the heat and not too much solder. My nephews has had many flights on his since this repair with no problems. I put some rubber cement in the hole were the yellow stuff was and let it dry. I hope this helps you and if someone else out there knows an easier or better way I hope they chime in. Good luck.

Good advice Olhippie!! It won't be an easy soldering job, you might want someone with experience to do it.

Well guys, great news, IT WORKED!! Thanks to Olhippie and carlo_the_wonder_frog for the suggestions. It turned out that the solder was in place all along but I guess that the wire didn't get soldered on at the factory correctly. Anyway, my friend and I just had to heat the existing solder from the back and when it got soft, just had to stick my wire back in the hole! Presto! Anyway, good as new now. Thanks again for the advice.
