Is there a book/website/etc that takes you through the basic 3D moves. What they're called, how to do them, how to do them better, etc?

Haven't found it yet.
Except for a DVD by Alan Szabo on 3D moves (heliproz.com)where he explains/shows them with his Raptor90 and shows the stickmovement while flying.
Although I think it's very hard to watch sticks and try to copy stickmovement.
I tried that years ago with a good friend doing some 3D on a plane, but each time I actualy learned something, I figured it out or had to feel and time it right myselve.
I just look at the videos of all events and try it in the SIM
I believe it all comes down to hours of practise on the basic techniques and go from there.
Many 3D figures are initiated by backward or inverted techniques that i have to master first to make it look good anyway :)

I agree with EricW.
I got the Alan Szabo DVD soon after my first heli and it didn't really help much to be honest. Not sorry I bought it, but memorising stick positions for moves doesn't prepare you for when things go wrong. At least I know what they're called now ;)
Basics are key IMO, the rest will come naturally.

Take the time to learn your orientations first. Then your basic moves like loops, rolls, stalls, most everything is a combonation of those.

Learn the basics first. Hover nose in/out, left/right. Once you get these basics down start forward flight. Once you got that go back to basics but inverted tail in/out, left/right. If you spend the time and learn these basics, everything else will come very quickly.
Spot on, Ghostrider.
If I may add something: When you get all of those done too, you might want to practice hovering/flying while doing pirouettes. That is very hard, but will improve greatly on your piroflips.
