I am using a TP1010-c with a TP210-V balancer. I have 5 packs total: 4 TP2100 3s and one FP EVO-2170 3s. I have roughly 30 cycles through the TP packs and 10 through the FP. I follow all the rules like a good boy - I generally charge at 1A and never put back more than 1700 into the packs and usually less. They are being used in a T-Rex 450SE and this is my first Heli so most of the flights have been fairly mild. I have crashed the bird once and the battery in that crash is NOT the one giving me problems now.

I have never had a glitch with the TP1010C EXCEPT for with one particular battery pack - it is the same one every time it happens. What happens is I plug the pack into the balancer, then the charger and when I push CHARGE (the red button to start the cycle) about 1/2 the time it fails and says [9] FAILURE OUTPUT CIRCUIT. I have found that on the other packs I can plug them in and hit the start right away and they read 11.4 volts or close and start charging. On this particular pack if I hit the button immediately it can read 3.3 volts, sometimes 12.6, sometimes 7 or 8 volts. I ALWAYS have to wait a minute before pressing the button and then it doesn't give the OUTPUT FAILURE warning about 1/2 the time.

The battery looks fine, when it does work it flies the heli fine and seems to have the same capacity as any of the others.

Anyone else run into this???

Paul

You might have an iffy connector on that packor a cold solder joint. Might be worth a replacement to see.

Any tips or things to watch out for when taking LiPo packs apart?

I was only referring to the battery connector not the internals. If you don't find anything wrong with the connector you may want to send in the pack for warrany.
