Hello,
I'm a newbie on helies and building a Mini Titan.
I have built according to the instructions (I think).
The instructions are however a bit fuzzy when it comes to the CCPM set up and especially the direction of sticks and controls.
Have also watched Finless CCPM videos for Trex as I've been told then are almost the same.

I have a couple of question though.
When Bob speaks about positive pitch does that mean when the blades are with the leading edge up and hence lifting the heli?

He also says that when the swash plate is in the top most position the Trex have positive pitch, right?

On my Mini Titan when the swash plate is in top position I have negative pitch, is this correct?

BR,
/Erland.

Hi Erland,

Yep it got me as well. The Titan is the revervse of the Heli in Bob's fantastic CCPM video. I just revervsed the swash setting on my Futaba 7cp

Cheers,

Peter

How about the tilt of the swashplate, is that also the opposite of the Trex?

Sorry Erland, what do you mean by tilt of the swash plate?

Cheers,

Peter

I mean when elevetor stick down, should the front of the swash plate go down (i.e. back of swash up and front down)?

Aileron stick right, should the swash tilt right side up and left side down?

No, the tilt of the swash plate is the same, elevator stick down, rear of swash plate down, aileron right, swash plate right. Only the pitch is reversed due to the setup of the head geometry.

That is of course with the tail of the heli facing you.

It got me too. And I will refrain from decribing what happened on the maiden flight because of this! :arggg: Fixed the radio setup for the swash and all is well now.

Let me guess, stuck to the ground as you pitched up and shot up when you pulled the stick back down

Oh man....You caught me !!!!! HAHAHAHA absolutley what happened. It spooled up and was glued to the ground. I said "oh I think there is a problem and I better shut it down and take a look". Well as soon as I dropped the stick, The mini did a freakin Kennedy Space Center launch about 20 ft striaght up in the air. I was helpless and just hit TH and let her crash. Unfortunately It was in my driveway and she came striaghtdown on the landing gear. Well as we all know the stock gear blows and they snapped right off, taking the bottom frame supports with them. But luckily no other damage, not even a broken blade. I was lucky.

I was like "I suck at life and the Mini T is kicking my A!!@@##" I thought I was a setup genius after I built the 450se step by step using Bob's awesome vids and the damn thing flew like a million bucks the first time up and still does. So I was attempting to repeat the same with the Mini. OOOPs. Since the rebuild and a complete review of the manual its now flying correctly and its a great heli. Boy I learned a big lesson on bench setup and patience. Chalk this up to the newbie in me. -Kyle

Great story
Guess we all have these moments.
I managed to start my Walkera in idle-up mode on the living room table while i plugged in the battery sitting on my knees on the carpet, with the flimsy click connectors that made sure the power stayed on....
The gyro had no time to correct so it left the table spinning wild and bounced of a lamp and straight in the curtains, surprisingly not much damage.
Wish i had a photograph of my face at that moment....Click " "
