Hi,
I am copying my settings over from a 9C and a bit stuck on the pitch and throttle curves. I have read http://www.littlerotors.com/articles/14mzbasics-180106/index.aspx.
I am using the spline curve for both throttle and pitch but my curves in the 14mz don't look nothing like they do on my 9C ?
Whats the best way to set them up the same as my 9c ?
Thanks
Simon.

Spline smooths out the curve between points. Also depending on which view your using the curve runs from -100% - 0% - 100% and not the normal 0 - 100% stick position
IMOA it may be better to start from afresh with a new model
ATM my problem is getting throttle hold to work when in Idleup and running a GV1 :arggg:

Hi,
I have copied my throttle curve settings over and these look fine. Using the spline curve you get 9 points I have used points 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and deleted the other points using 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 as though as it would be 1-5 on my 9C. Why are my throttle one's ok but my pitch ones are all way off ? My 9c pitch curves are pretty my straight lines, these ar my settings in my 9c.
Norm 28, 45, 63, 76, 93
idle 1 17, 35, 55, 73, 89
idle 2 0, 23, 45, 71, 93
Hold 0, 23, 45, 71, 100
If I use thes points in my 12mz I get a curvy pitch line yet the throttle is fine :arggg:

Taking the Norm as a ex
28 on the 9C is 28% from 0
On the 12/14 28 is a positive 28 so would be above the midstick pos
just a guess
Until the curves are shown it hard to see what's going on - piccies?

About the best picture I could get. I'm sure you can download the pic straight off the 14 it does everything else

Mmm weird
At this stage I would set the Tx to the heli by measuring the actual pitch and go from there. When I set mine up I got completely differing values
Looking again at the curve and your values they do seem to match except the 28 which looks like -28

That is the right idea. Default the pitch and throttle curves . Then start from scratch and set up the model using a pitch gauge for pitch. The numbers from the 9C are not going to be the same. Just my opinion you will probably spend more time trying to transfer every thing from the 9C than you would if you started with a fresh setup. All I did when I went from 9Z to 12Z. I took a pitch gauge and took the readings at full low stick, mid stick and then full high stick. Since 50% at mid stick was the same on both radios, it was easy to match the model to the 12Z using the low, mid , high positions.

I would use a pitch gauge.
First I would hit the % button so it say deg, then I would press angle.
Move pitch stick to bottom /mid and top and insert the corresponding values from the pitch gauge.
Now it's easy to set the pitch as you want.
ex. you want 10 at top and -2 at bottom just insert the values into your lovely 14mz without pitch gauge.
14mz I love that lady

OK I will start from fresh with the pitch curves.
Will things like the throttle curves, end points, gyro screen, servo reverse etc etc all be ok to copy from the 9C or am I really going to sstart everything from scratch
I like how you can to change % to read pitch :glasses2: thanks Rohnny

Hi,
I have been trying to change the unit to deg and then press angle and set my pitch curve limits, low, med and high. each time I set one up and then set another it changes them all ? eg if I set my Hold to -8, 0, +11 then set Norm to -2, +4, +9 when I go back to Hold it has change to the same as Norm ? I have the folder set Sngl on each flight mode.

I think the Angle setting is the overall pitch range of the heli so the curve matches the mechanical pitch range. ie instead of -10 to +10 (default) you can set the curve graph to read from -12 to +12
There is so much to learn and differing ways of achieving the same result on this radio - I feel I have only just touched the surface

I got the Angle's set now, I have each mode set as Gr and not single  I'm sure I set them to single before.
Can someone explain why Futaba have change from there usual connections into the receiver ?
I have always been used to,
Aileron
Elevator
Throttle
Rudder
Gyro
Pitch
now they recommend
Throttle
Rudder
Gyro
Aileron
Elevator
Pitch
So whats best to use ? If I am using a new G3 rx should I use the new type connections and if I have an older type rx 149 should I use the older connections ?

Use the group of channels that are used in G3 ( 2048 PCM). I use the same grouping with the 149 PCM rx also. They grouped aileron, pitch, elevator together so they all are updated at the same time. It definitely works better than the old style order.
Use the G3 order of channels for both G3 and the 149.
