Just downloaded the latest manual. Wondering if any major changes between these manuals. Anyone know if there is a manual on programming the ESC, or are most people upgrading this item?

Mine came with a manual for the esc, but it was in chinese :face. I suspect it is setup fine from factory, the 18A that came with the 200 was, just had to set endpoints which is simple.

You means set endpoints like the way that is done with the Castle Creations ESC's using the travel adjust on the Throttle?

castle is a bit weird with endpoints actually...

Normally it's just a case of power up with esc disconnected and throttle at full... connect esc and wait for acknowledgement beep, lower throttle to zero and wait for beep, then power off and restart.

Not sure what the exact method is for this ESC because I'm not using it, but that is the way it works with most.

I see they added the specs for the swash-plate links. I think they need to send along a setup sheet for the beastx that corresponds to the combo kit, things like servo frequency would be nice to know off the bat for the kit servos.

My kit came with esc programming instructions(in engrish), i honestly felt it was pretty easy to program compared to my align esc, once you get the gist of it.

Did you ever find out the servo frequency? I thought it odd too that they don't mention it anywhere since they actually bundle the kit with a Beast X and one of the steps in setting it up involves setting the cyclic frequency....

I just went with a safe 65hz since I couldn't find the info anywhere.

Sorry for the OT

this is a good read on the frequency. http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=277718

I set mine to 65hz on the swash, and 125hz on the tail, though i might try 270hz on the tail and keep an eye on the temp.

The Hyp DS09s i use on my 200 (and will use on my X2) work just fine at 200Hz cyclic and the tail version is fine at 270Hz (though I am using ds95is now). If they are digital servos they should be fine at 200hz, especially now the BX had reduced power consumption for servos.

Hell I accidentally set some crummy esky digitals to 200hz (they are def. only good for 65) and they did chatter and get warm quickly but you had plenty of time to pull the plug (a min or so)...

As to the gaui esc, google it for instructions, but it is a HW pentium (or turnigy plush) so the throttle calibration is: Power on tx, set throttle to max, power on esc wait for beeps (2secs or so) then lower to min. ESC will power up and play a little tune, its all set then.

The 22A ESC that comes with the kit, is the same as Hobby Wing or Turnigy Plush manual.
Mine comes with English manual.
