What the h*ll is going on here? Came back from the field, today, and I broke one side of the landing gear bracket. The verticle portion on the left side. No hard landings, nothing! That is the second time. Am I over-torqin' something around there. I'm clueless. :arggg:

Any thoughts?

Are you talking about part # 115-40 the aluminum landing gear mount? If so, I can't imagine what could be going on. I've made some of the worst imaginable landings and have never broken that part. I don't think over torquing could account for your problem. Perhaps it's vibration related. Just a guess. :arggg:

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is it.....flat bottom that bo;ts through the gear verticly and 2 verticle portions that go into the sideframes/vert channel. Don't think that it is vibe. Hovers and climbs with no fin wobble/shake. Don't get it. Maybe I just hit wrong after an auto. Our field is no Mac Hodges, so I could have caught something during a slider. Who knows any others?

I would suggest to drill out the hole in the struts of the landing gear to at least 4mm. This allows room for the bolt to to be free and not put any undue stress on the bracket. I have done this for about 6 years and not had anymore problems.

I've had multiple brackets break front and rear as far as I could tell from hard landings practicing auto's and vibration from my YS 80 when the bearings were going out .
The vibes were also breaking bracket and landing gear bolts randomly every 4-6 flights .
Something else I like to do is remove the rear tailboom support spacers and use shorter bolts where the mount to bracket.
I have another Fury with a YS 91 that has never broken a bracket or bolt
but it's my second ship and runs a bit smoother.

Try balancing the whole tail rotor assembly with the blades. I use to break them till i started balancing the tail assembly and have not broken one since.

Thanks for all the info. I guess I will order a few in order to narrow down the exact cause. Thanks again! :D
