5016-1080kv motor efficiency and flight time?

Maybe someone here can help me out... since the power train I am using is actually a compass motor and castle esc it is more of a generic issue. I am trying to figure out why I am getting such low flight times with the compass motor. Detailed description is in the thread below.

What kind of flight times are you seeing on your stretched Atoms using 3300mah batts? Governed or not? What headspeed? What is the weight of the heli (FBL)?

My non-streched Atom 500 is only getting 5 1/2 minutes on 3000 & 3300 Turingy batteries. Not sure of exact head speed, but it is in throttle up. My flying is definately sport style. So your 4 1/2 on a streched didn't seem that bad to me.

Now, on my 6hv with 2 batteries, I get the 81/2 - 9minutes.

Could your belt/mesh be too tight?

My stock 500 uses about 2.5 (3.7/3.8v at no load) out of the turnigy 6s3000 40c lipo's with 6 minutes flight time.
On the hobbywing 60a I have the timing set to 18.75 which appears to be more economical then 22.5 and I have the governor enabled at 85% flat throttle. If I use less collective and/or set the headspeed a bit lower I can probably get more flight time out of the packs but 6 minutes per pack is fine by me.

I set the Tx for 4 1/2 minutes and the packs come down at 3.85 & 3.86 and at room temperature since its a bit cooler outside. I could go 5 minutes easy but 4 1/2 minutes without breathing is a lot for me, maybe next summer.....

Stretched, Vbar gov @ 2350, I get almost 430. I fly 4m to be safe. 3300's. Stock motor. If I let Azlum fly it 4m is the max :).

All depends on how hard you throw it around and what you run for collective/cyclic etc.. too.
