Hi

I have a question regarding the settings on my Futaba T7CP Tx and Trex 600. The model was supplied fully built and set up in an easy to fly configuration. The TX has the following settings :-

SUB-TRIM – all channels ‘0’ except ELEV which is +42 & PITC is +32
REVERSE – Ch’s 1,2,3,4,5 set to REV Ch’s 6&7 set to NOR
SWASH – AIL = +25%, ELE = +25%, PIT = +24%

TH-CRV(N) – P5 = 100%, P4 = 85%, P3 = 75%, P2 = 40% & P1 = 0%
PI-CRV(N) - P5 = 100%, P4 = 75%, P3 = 50%, P2 = 46% & P1 = 42%

TH-CRV(1) – P5 = 100%, P4 = 85%, P3 = 75%, P2 = 85% & P1 = 100%.
IDL1 & IDL2 are set to (OFF)
PI-CRV(1) - P5 = 100%, P4 = 75%, P3 = 50%, P2 = 25% & P1 = 0%

GYRO – (INH)SW to switch ‘E’
Mode to ‘GY’
Gain settings @ A 60%
TH-HOLD set to (OFF)

Looking through this forum I see that the advice is to have sub-trim set to 0 and swash settings at 50%. Any advice on my currents settings, and what happens if I increase the swash settings.

Thanks.

Pat

The subtrims on the three swash servos need to be set to whatever makes teh servo arms in the proper position (90 degrees to the links) at mid stick.

The swash settings are whatever they need to be to give teh proper collective and cyclic pitch range.

Basically if the person who set up your heli knows what they are doing, you are fine. If they didn't there is no way to really tell other than get a pitch guage, get teh Finless videos and set it up yourself.

Here's the deal. Excessive subtrim can cause the servo to move more one way than the other. This is worse when the end points or in the case swash AFR values are high, which in your case they arent.

Now in your case I would either leave it be, or, run shorter servo arms, find some servo arms or wheels that allow minimal sub trim and open up the swash AFR a bit but really thats picking fly crap out of pepper, it will work with what you have.
