Hey guys, this is my first post on here. I have a few questions regarding my Venture 30. I purchased it from some guy for $150, he never finished assembling it. It had a bunch of upgrades installed. I have the O.S. .37 SXH. One thing I am wondering is how to keep that damn hex starter socket from stripping the end of the set screw off. It seems like I can start it maybe two times and then have to put it back on. I was thinking about drilling out oversize and tapping for a bigger set screw. So anyone have any fixes that have worked for them. And you guys with the O.S. 37 the O.S. mounter mount configuration didn't work for me, the clutch was grinding on the top of the bell. I turned the mount around to use the webra mount and fixed that. This is my first nitro heli and love it, the noise, the smoke, the sound of the rotors. The guy who first got it had purchased some akuminum landing gear, and that has saved me alot of heartache. I just wish I knew where I can get another. And lastly, I am wondering if anyone else has this problem. The tail rotor gear seems to not work when doing autos. Is this one supposed to work like this. I seen another post that thier was an upgrade for the Venture 50 to get it to gyro. Let me hear from ya. Thanks

Also forgot to add that I eventually want some aluminum head parts, blade grips, seasaw, swash, .etc. Part numbers or where you can get them would be great. Thanks again.

Oh ya, and what blades r u guys using. I have the wooden ones right now, would like carbon main, tail, and paddles. Someone on the forum had some nice looking red and white and Mavrik (maverick) blades.

Once again thanks.

I use NHP 550 main blades, they are great. Doing autos you have no control over the tail, where it wants to go is up to it. I don't think there is a way to fix that. As far as up grades here are some links. All I upgraded was the blade grips to egro grips and 3D head dampers, I think I am going to save and just get a 50 size bird. Hope this helps!

there is an upgrade to have the tail driven during autos. Ricks Helis (ronunland.com) can set you up with it along with any other upgrades you want. I tried drilling out the hex drive for a bigger set screw but it is hardened. I got it drilled out ok (chewed up 4 bits) but then you will need a bottom tap to completely thread the hole. I couldn't find one that would cut clean threads because the dive is too hardened. I use a new stock hex drive, filed the setscrew flat and use blue locktite. Still ocassionally pops the setscrew out but not as often.
