Anyone know of a Good and cheap video cam for shooting short vids of my CPP? I'd like to be able to post simple vids of my CPP but dont want to spend good Heli $$$ on it. Preferably below $100.

Hey, Buzz! I have a little Vivatar (ViviCam5385) still camera that takes really nice video too. You just need a flash card big enough to handle the length of vid you want. This 128MB SD card in mine will do 3 or 4 minutes of vid and you can get allot bigger cards than that. You need at least 2800mah NiMh AAs to keep the camera fired up when doing vids though. Walmart sells these things for about 120/130 bucks and they are 5 Megapixels which I turn down to 3.5 to get more mileage out of the SD card I am using. Takes nice vid too! Check em out. I think you can get almost any digital still cam to do 4 or 5 min of vid and right around a hundred bucks. Doesn't the cam you use take video too?

Ya but the quality is less than poor. Its an older cam 2 mega pixal so its choppy small and blocky.

Look on E-bay..I have seen this rig I have for well under a hundred and it doesn't chop the vid up at all. Really does a decent job on vid. I would not have believed it if I hadn't tried it by mistake one day. I figured the vid stuff would look like you describe. 5 Megapixel cams are really cheap nowadays. The expensive stuff is up around 8 Megs and higher. :dontknow

The camera I did my reviews/etc on was the Aiptek one listed here:

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-3/qid=1177452125/ref=sr_1_3/601-2225693-3751345?ie=UTF8&asin=B000EHKWKM

I got mine at a local Target for $99 plus the SD memory card.

if you have a card reader, uploading them is a breeze, and they are already encoded properly

I use the Creative Divicam 525D. The 428 is cheaper but take the same video. The 525D supports 2gig cards. The 428 supports 1gig. Cards not included.

One batt gives 1.5 hours straight shooting. A little over a gig worth of 640 x 480 videos.

The creative cam is a little pricey for what I want one for. Nice camera though.
