I bought an airplane model before I knew there was a heli version.....I love mine, the rachet is easy to take out. I am useing the 7000 on my cpp and on my raptor, it might be over kill but I really dont care, I dont have any glitching. for yall experienced flyiers that have had a heli controller you might not like where ther switches are, but Im still knew and this is my first real TX so I will just learn... The only thing I dont like about the tx is the engine kill switch not being a momentary switch.....enjoy yall

i dont know what a momentary swtich is but im going to guess thats a switch that when you flip it, it stays. with that prolly being wrong. could you just change out the switch

if I remember right it is used to enable Trainer. I wondered that when I first got my CPP looked it up and sense forgotten. LOL.
Does any one know how much heavier the AR7000 is over AR6100? or stock reviever?
I have a 6100 on it's way tomorrow or Saturday so I think I will keep the 7100 and put it in either a future Rex450 or Plane. Are the servos good servos?

got my first flights in with the dx7 today. just awesome how it removes that twitchyness that the cpp is so famous for...really inspires confidence...simply awesome.

Well dang my AR6100 has some shipping delays. I just put the AR7000 in my CPP today and have dialed things in well enough to fly. The DX7 is bad a$$ed!!! my heli feels so much better. I like that the sticks feel better in my hands too. No ratcheting, nice. LOL. Now I can't wait to get my AR6100 so I can put my canopy back on. :D
Man, I have had my DX7 for a while, and it is setup on my Trex and works fine. (had a buddy set it up since I am noobish in this area)
I decided to take My blade cp pro brushless. Before I did this I needed to get the CPP over on to my DX7 so I could tame the beast (CPP are insane to fly without numbing it a bit with expo). Anywho I picked up a AR6000 and stuck it in my CPP. it bound ok, and after some trial and error got all the proper servos plugged into the right spots. The problem seems to be in my setup. I could only find one setup sheet for the CPP and DX7 and I followed it to the letter with pitch curves, throttle curves etc. But swash mix seems to be all wrong. What is supposed to be aileron input acts like its collective pitch, Collective input only moves the front servo, but throttle appears to respond correctly. This is making me angry. Bottom line is, can anyone point me to a proper starting setup for DX7 on this heli?

Switch the two rear servo wires in on your RX. Now what does it do after this?

thanks for the quick reply, but I finally found out what it was. The setup sheet I was looking at had the aileron servo reversed in the wrong direction. I finally had the bright idea to get my stock Tx out and look at the servo reversing (duh) and found that it was reversed. SO that problem resolved...lol.
still lots more fun to figure out for tomorrow, like why my tail motor runs like it wants to Piro like mad when I am running a HH gyro, should only run when it detects acceleration right?..oh man what a headache. I guess this is how you learn though...wonder if its reversed too. I'm going to go check.

Yeah I haven't been able to find any sheets that I can use as a good starting referance point. I have been messing around with it all day. I have my CPP in the air now but there are obviously adjustments that need to be made. I love the way the DX7 feels. So much smoother.
can anyone post some Blade CPP DX7 setup referances? I know I have seen some in this forum but I can't seem to find em.

Thanks Eddo, that helped a bunch, there some things in there that I didnt understand but I set them your way anyway and poof, it all just comes together! I am actually at a point where I need to fly it now to set gyro gain and pitch curves for my personal feel etc.

Thanks for the link. For those of you that have the G90 and the DX7, have you noticed that the G90 seems to be much more sensative? For example with the stock CPP tx I would leave my gyro at 100% and adjust the 3 in 1 to about 30%. Now if If I adjust to 100% on my DX7 the gyro is constantly trying to correct the tail. What seems to be a good G90/3 in 1 combo?

IF you have a DX7 why not just get rid of the 3-1?

LOL, well I am under the impression that I still need it. Don't I need the ESC from it? or does the DX7 do something that I am not aware of?

I never did get the DX7 to manage the hh gyro gain. I just disconnect gyro sense and let the gyro be in hh mode. Set gain to 60-80% and my DD tail is great. Don't use the DX7 to control gyro gain.

I am using my DX7 to manage gain, but even at 100% it doesnt feel like it is as high as it could be. I wonder if I need to adjust an end point a little higher to get some gain out of it. Last night I finaly got the ole girl flying and got it feeling like it did before the radio switch. pitch curve was a little tricky. I let the head spool way up before applying pitch now. It was bogging real bad when I would take off. Anyway all those pitch curves will be out the window when I stick the brushless in there. I guess my next question is how do you up the roll rate. I plan on getting this thing upside down soon and my feeling last night with it is that the cyclic feels sluggish. From what I have read these things can be ballistic in that area. is it expo? or dual rate? any ideas?
Thanks!
Aaron

If you have BL main you wont need the ESC. I forgot to ask if your CP was brushless. I suppose it depends on what ESC you had if you had BL motor. Sorry about that.

Buzzkill,
Yeah man I have a BL main. How does that allow me to not need the 3-1 for the tail? My tail is still brushed. I have the Eflight 20A ESC for my main. My understanding was that I would need to get a seperate ESC for the tail in order to ditch the 3-1. I am still learning so spill it Buzz, lol, am I wrong?

ev01, try putting some negative expo on your cyclic channels. Increase your aileron and elevator endpoints until servos buzz than backoff.
