I am setting up a gy 401 on a dx6 radio but i cant get the thing into heading hold mode. I have set up one using a 7 chp without any dramas so it is a radio set up issue not a gyro or tail issue . I am using the gear channel and am using the subtrim to adjust the gain. I thought reversing the servo direction switches from normal to HH but this has no effect. THen i tried changing the subtrim/gain to 70% in the negative value.....still no change. Am i along the right track or ami doing this wrong. THanks for any help

You dont use sub trim to adjust the gain, you use the end points. The farther away from mid point the higher the gain, one way will put it in heading hold, the other in rate mode. Set the sub trim to 0, make sure the single wire is plugged into the gear channel and set the end points on that switch.
