If you or anyone you know is interested in being a member please ask them to contact me. I'm currently looking at fields and working out the logistics.
Once we have a field and know the annual cost.
Three scenarios are possible:
1. The expense exceeds what anyone would reasonably pay to fly in Fort Mill.
2. The South Charlotte Club decides to adopt the field and we become one group.
3. We decide to be an independant AMA club.
So far everything is still open. We have people flying planes/heli's in areas they probably shouldn't and a few areas that are ok but subject to change/safety..etc...Flying on an unsanctioned field/area opens you up to legal liability. I think we've probably all done it before. The idea here is to have an area that's ours to fly when we want to and be covered under the AMA.
Once things are up and running; I'm done. I have no desire to be the leader/officer..etc. I do the work then get out of the way ;) .
My hopes are that the club can do events throughout the year to promote the RC Hobby to the community and support local charities.
