Got my rex450 SE V2 last night. I know this is the blade forum but I've been in here everyday for four months so I thought I'd post it here as well as the rex forum.

So, my cpp will be dormant for a few days (I think) until I have charge delays to deal with.

I'll post some tonight or in the morning when I get it done. Cant wait to crash...I mean fly this thing. Too bad you cant get the V2 canopy yet. I'd love to paint one up like some of my CPP canopies.

In reality, I'll bet you continue flying the micro so you can have some no presure flying fun. I've got some nicely blinged mini's that I spend a ton of money and time working on and flying them is an absolute rush.

reality is that I still fly my frankin blade 4 to 1 over the mini's. The micro fits better in my yard but more than that, when I crash the micro it costs 1 to 4 less than a crash with my mini's. I'm not nearly as nervous flying it and its almost a repreave to the intense rush of the bigger more powerful ships. The micro is so unstable that after flying it, the mini's are allot more stable so less likely to get me dissoriented.....<crash> $$$$$

Your gonna love your rex. best of luck and thanks for all your input here for the last few months.

Thanks man. I'll still be around this forum. The scariest thing for me with the rex is the unavalibility of V2 parts right now. So after my first crash I'll have no choice but to fly my blade. I still love my CPP.

I've got a couple buddies I fly with here that have rexies and sure there are times that parts are out for a few days but in reality those ships are REALLY tough. I don't think it'l be as bad as your thinkin.

Like any adiction, a short wagon ride makes the next rush even better

what makes the v2 rex so much better then the older version ? for me being able to get parts quick plays a big role in what i buy

Have you flown a 450 before, Buzz? If not, you're gonna love it! Totally different ball game than the micro. Congrats! :smokin:

Since I'm now in virtually the same boat as Buzz, I'll try to answer:

The biggest changes are in the head and tail assemblies, along with the monster 430XL motor.

The all aluminum CNC head and tail include ALL the mods & tweaks that have been slowly accumulating since the SE first launched: thrust bearings in the head, smoother tail slider and a bunch of stuff Finless talked about in his video (that I can't find :arggg: )

Also, the tail boom mounting block is set up so that you can mount your servo directly to it, and the frame is all CF with some slight mods to battery and electronics trays.

EDIT: FOUND FINLESS's VIDEO!!!

I built my V2 a month ago and I fly it and my Blade CPP every day. I find that now I fly the Blade much more aggressively and it definitely doesn't sit on the shelf gathering dust. The TRex is an awesome heli to fly and I love every second it's in the air - now that I have it I just don't worry about crashing the Blade. Funny thing is my last three crashes with the Blade have been with zero damage, maybe I'm lucky. Spare parts for the V2 can be found if you look around. I have quite a few spares built up already waiting for it's first crash - yes that's right - the TRex is still a virgin after a whole month! I guess everyone is right when they say that if you can fly a Blade you can fly anything.

I've had T-Rex 450 SE for a year now, and my Blade CP still gets PLENTY of airtime. Congrats Buzzkill!

If you're anything like me, your first T-Rex crash will be caused by thinking you know more than you do, since the T-Rex is so much easier to fly.

LOL. I hope not. To be honest the first flight is going to be the worst I think. Thats when I'll get the feel and all that. I have no idea how its going to fly and if I'll have it setup right. So if I dont crash it before I get it dialed in I'll consider myself lucky!!

I always use training gear on a new setup when dialing it in for a good hover. Saves me money! No need to take un-necissary chances with your new baby.

Once its dialed in, cut the zip ties and remove the trainers.

Ha! I shucked the blades on my SE's maiden because somehow I had reversed the swash aileron in the tx. Was my wake up call to check the obvious before flying a new set-up. That fixed, my actual first flights were a breeze!

My DX7 didnt come with the RX battery so I have to figure out how to get the ESC back into setup mode because when I bound the RX I think I screwed it up. :arggg: Anyway, I hope to have it flying by tomorrow. I almost want to just hang it from the ceiling or shelf it. Its thats pretty IMO.

Rebuild, When you gonna do some balsa fuses for the rex's?

I have a new found respect for you guys doing the Compy frame for your CPP. Thats got to be tough with that small of a frame. The SE V2 is alot bigger and still its a pita at some points.

First: let me say that I still love my CPP.

Second: this is in no way bragging or spotlighting.

Third: Now that that's out of the way, HOLY F N CRAP !!!!!

I've read post after post of how good the Trex is compared to the CPP. To be honest I've often thought, "ya it cant be that good". I was wrong. Its better than I or anyone else can accurately describe compared to my other heli. Again, I'm not bragging. I'm just trying to let you guys that's getting one soon or getting one eventually know, its worth every penny. Rock solid and I mean ROCK SOLID. Maiden flight was just amazing. All I did was hover but WOW!!. I'm going to stop because I really cant explain the difference. For those of you that don't have one, when you do you are in for a surprise. For those of you that do and have posted how much more stable it is (among other things) you have my thanks.

I'm attaching a single picture because this is the CPP forum but mostly because I want to get back to flying!!!!
