Fix bearing with loctite? [Archive]

I'm trying to hunt down a screeching noise on my 500. Upon bench testing, I noticed that this bearing is slipping and rotating inside its race:

I don't know if this is the culprit, but I guess it's a good thing to stop it.

Should I loctite it? Green loctite? Will I ever be able to replace the bearing again then?

Green loctite is cool, you just need to heat the bearing up (soldering iron) to melt the loctite when you need to remove it.

Art you running governor mode? The too high gain symptoms on the trex 500 isn't a chirping but a hard squealing sound

I had the exact same issue with the same bearing on mine. It was too loose for locktite to hold it so I took a small punch w/hammer and pinged (dimpled?) the inside of the housing in four or five places. Then locktited the bearing in and problem solved. I went ahead and did the same on the other side too since it was almost as loose.

For a while now my helicopter had had this sound like a bearing is worn out. I have changed every bearing to get rid of it including swash plate and motor bearings. Yesterday I saw this thread and it gave me hope.. I glued the bearings with green loctite on inner and outer races. The axle looked a little worn on the place mentioned.
Later today I will check if it has helped. I hope so. The strange thing is that the helicopter has no negative tendencies despite the fact that something must be wrong...

yes, I am using governor on the V-Bar. It doesn't sound like the typical high gain noise, but I'll try to adjust it. Worth testing!
