Hey guys,
I had a moderate crash a few weeks ago and since then the thing just wont get off the ground, only light on the skids. I have replaced the speed controller, tried a differend reciever, a different battery (surely both my batteries wouldnt have gone off at the same time). Nothing seems to make any difference, i cant visibly see that anything is bent and everything turns freely. If i pitch it right up it will bog down a bit and loose lift at full pitch. Does anybody have any ideas? I miss flying this thing! I have considered just getting a brushless motor setup and be done with it! Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

Did you replace the main shaft after the crash? Could it be that if you did, the little black plastic block that the pitch rod screws into isn't in the same position (the rod isn't screwed into it the same amount as before)? That would throw your pitch out of whack and could be causing the problem. The Zoom flies with a very small amount of pitch (mine hovered with 3 degrees and topped out at 7). If it's getting too much pitch that will bog it down.

Also, the motor could be kaput. The stock brushed motors don't seem to last very long. This would be an ideal time to go brushless!

Try to set it up so that when the arm on the pitch servo is straight across, the stick is at 50% travel (using the pitch curve setup in your transmitter to verify stick position), and the blade pitch is 0. If you set it up this way, the hover and high pitch points will be very close to where they should be.
