Hi, im flying a raptor 50 with OS50hyper.Whenever i gona start the engine, I will ned to increase my throttle lever slightly to crank it up.But when it started, the idling is very high and when i throttle down, it dies off...

Any clue to solve this problem? thanks for the advice.

it sounds as if the idle mixture is lean. open it up 1/8 turn and try again.
What fuel are you using? Is the engine broken in, or new?

Hi, its broken in. Im uisng coolpower 20% nitro. 1/8 turn as in counterclockwise? my current idle mixture is ard 1degree(from the center) to the lean side.

hey vintcs77 how much fuel did you put through the motor before it started chipping the piston ? I had the same problem after about 8 gallons of 20% Now running 15% with new motor as it was cheaper than replacing the piston , ring, liner and bearings as those little chips of piston go through everything and destroy all moving bearing parts. So dont just replace the piston and ring thinking you will be ok cause you probably wont be. As I have been there and had this drama.

Hi, I bought the engine from another guy and he claimed it only run a gallon. After which i run about 1.5 gallons and its hard to start. all using 20% nitro. I changed the con rod also as the copper spacer has worn out too...maybe that contributed to the play on the piston stroke.
