This is one of those times where I am not going to cover up the fact that I just flat screwed up! I was changing the yellow male plug end on my Duralite pack (this is the end that you charge through) and accidentally touched the 2 pins together. The plastic plug end was damaged from a previous incident but I lived with it until I got a replacement.
The battery label clearly says "Do not short circuit". Well, that is most likely what I did because it will not take a charge. When I hook up my Duralite charger to it the LED on my charger does not come on. I made sure the charger and charger lead was working by checking it on another pack. It was fine.
With that said, what is the best way forward from here? This surely does not mean that the pack is shot does it? I thought I remember hearing somewhere that the battery pack has some circuitry built in to protect the cells from damage in the event something like this happens. However, I don't want to strip off the heat shrink just yet. I would prefer to send it off to Duralite and have them check it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
