Wow this is my first 500 and i was so nervous and cautious with the heli. I finished her today and did a maiden.....
you will see the tail wag in the 2nd test hover....The gain on the dx8 is set at 70%....can that be too high....so i adjusted it down to like 50% and the same thing..
but so far i was very impressed...
any ideas to why the tail wag???

I just checked now and think i forgot to add a bit of delay while doing the gyro setup....could it be that???

Ok i added delay. when the delay light started to flash i stopped as i thought that would be enough. Is that correct. my gain is still at 70 on my DX 8.
The heli lifts off excellent and then starts to tail wag abt 3-5seconds after it lifted. Any advice will be appreciated. Should i add more delay or reduce my gain?

Here's me coming in with a response when I'm usually the one doing the asking, so forgive me if I'm way off the mark here.
I set up a 500 ESP FB this weekend and set the gyro gain on my DX8 at 65%, as it had been on my DX6i - and she wagged like a dog with a bone. I checked out the 'net .... and found that the DX8 has a HH scale starting at zero - above is HH, below is Rate. I brought my gain down to 40% and she became as sweet as a nut.
I know you are using an EFL PRO - and I'm interested because I'm in the throes of building one right now :).

mmmm....i know when i use my trex 450 with spartan gyro i only have like 25%....maybe i should dial it down and try....
when changing the gain setting on your radio does the 3gx need to be in DIR mode?

the gain resolution on the dx8 is different than on the dx7.
On my 450 beastx i now run 33 in gain on my dx8 if that helps.
Do not use delay .... Run Aux 2 for gyro gain.. Not gear!!!
Try 40% to start... for gain..
The DX8 uses a different gain scale ...
Goo Luck..

ok the gain is working and no tail wag but now i have a slight tail drift....will place two antivibration pads to prevent the 3gx from getting vibration. and see if that works
