for long i've been wanting a trex 450, ya, a blade cpp owner right now. i've always opted for the tp1010 w/ 210v balancer, knowing it's the best out there. however, recently, it struck me that i'll not need past four cell as i really dun have the money for the packs and it's not until 2 years that i'll be able to drive to the field, and that i'll possibly go nitro if runtime on those huge electric batts don't improve. anyways, recently, i've started looking for cheaper 4 cell chargers. i've heard good thing from cellpro i think? however, my lhs doesn't carry those, and they showed me another one.

it's the Prolux (brand) Digi charge (name) 104 charger, it does ni-mh, ni-cd, li-po, and pb. http://www.rcinfos.com/2006/2006_03_19_prolux_news.php it's the first one on the list. i do know that i'll need a balancer for it, i think i'll go with the tp 5s balancer. with this charger, i can sell my prolux digipeak 1-14 cell ni-mh/ni-cad charger that i have for my cars right now.

i've had the prolux digipeak ni-mh/ni-cd charger for over 3 years now, it has been very reliable. the prolux digi charge is the same brand, just now it can charge lipo also.

if anyone has any experience with one of these, please share your thoughts, and others taht don't, fell free to give your opinions as well. also what other chargers can i go for?

i don't see a price for the prolux. but, for $70 you can't go wrong with the cellpro for lipos and A123. and, the balancer is built in.

my lhs has it for around 150CAD, that's around 125ish USD. and add the balancer i'm nearing the 200CAD mark. however, i'll be able to sell the Prolux i have for my cars right now.

i guess everything is automatic with the cellpro? like current and such? which do you think is a better charger if price was not a factor? i prefer the prolux as it'll do everything, and i've had a prolux charger for well over 3 years, it's been very reliable for ni-hm/ni-cd, just dunno for lipo.

so if my interpretation is right, with the cellpro, every pack up to 4 cell will be able to be charged in 1h? balanced?

you buy direct from the Manf for the cellpro 4s. It's automatic. Just plug and go. You can change the current if you want to. I just use the rapid 1.4C charge mode.

If price was not a factor the cellpro 4s still wins for charging Lipo/A123 cells. Remember you STILL have to get a balancer and with the prolux you'll be using a passive balancer.

My packs charge in 50 minutes or less fully balanced.
