Balance Lead on TP 3s Pack

Has anyone ever soldered thier own balance wires onto a lipo pack?
I have a friend that is a gifted avionics / electrician that says that he can solder the pack so that I can plug a balancer into it, what are your thoughts about doing this?

Well if the lipoly pack meets oxygen you get fire. But if he says he is "gifted".. I would still make him do it at his place ;)

It's not a big deal if you're careful.
Taping it all back up so it is all protected and somewhat strain relieved is the hardest part.
