This could happen from ANY manufacturer, stuff is mass produced and sometimes crap makes it through the line. In fact, most manufacturers have a margin of error that they KNOW is going to happen and in some cases it can be 10% or higher!

I know, im not mad at wow. Things happen. I just wanted to try it out but now have to wait and fix before even in the air. I had good customer service from wow before, so hopefully they will send me another servo, but looks like they are out of stock:mad:

yea, thats what I was thinking. I know it is a good heli, but it does kinda start things out on the wrong foot with the genius. But I am going to stick with her and im sure it will be a fun little heli.

Hello,
I had the same issue. I have had nothng but problems with my Genium from Wow hobbies. The first thing was that I did not recieve the brushles version I ordered and was marked checked as on the box. Their customer support from Jon has been good, but it usually takes 2 days between email responses.

My Genius would never fly correctly and when I checked the Elevator servo was moving "kinda"of but never correctly. They sent a new one I have replaced it. Now it is moving full throw matching the other servo's. Hopefully now the Genius has a chance to fly correctly. It suffered much some bashing while I tried to figure out why it was not flying! (broken battery tray, which I CA'd some carbon fiber sliver over to repair)

Now I recieved the brushless motor the hook up was easy but it also seems to have problems. I will not run up from low throttle? It kinda quivers. If I tap the barrel, the motor will run and seems to run welll from low to high throttle, but If I try and start from from low throttle again it will not turn?

What is going on? Do brushless motors need to be broken in? Tha'ts one of the reason's I wanted it installed!

I had the exact same problem with my Genius out of the box. My elevator servo was twitching all over the place and at times, not moving at all. The store I bought it from (miracle-mart) was great about it and sent out a replacement servo to me the next. I'm pretty excited to fly this thing once I get the servo

It didnt' work int the mount so I took the BL motor out and was holding it. Still only started spinning when I gave it a tap from low throttle stick.

Had the same problem with the elev. servo:arggg:

When flying al of a sudden the heli fluw almost wright in to my face.

After checking the servos the elev. servo was in the full up position.

When initialising the elev. servo whent full up.

And stopped in this possition.

The elev is dead now:face

I am getting a little concerned about the number of people having servo trouble with the very small nucleolus of genius fliers on here, there seems to be far more servo problems than we are seeing with a far larger group on RCG WHY :dontknow

I hope you guys are not cherry picking Toms settings, Tom restricts pitch throw to 60% and then uses the full sweep of the curve, walkera use 100% pitch throw and 60% sweep of the curve, if you use 100% pitch and a 100% sweep of the curve you will get servo overrun and the problems that people are reporting.

One trend. So far, the reports of bad servos that I have seen have mainly been about the elevator servo.

I am not taking toms settings for cherry.

I am not a 3d flyer my pitch curve is from -3° to 10°+ like with all my other helis.

So there must be sommething wrong with the servos.

i don't care what it is, cell phones, radios, cars.....all have lemons. and with the servos you multiply the chance by three.....lots of people flying these now and some people even have two working models. Don't over analyze it....you probably just got a dud.

If you purchased from one of the more reputable stores they will normally work with you to make you happy.

I've now had to replace all three servos in my Genius CP. I'm glad Wow has them in stock now. It's most likely my fault (still mastering CP,) but the bird is described as being pretty durable. I wish Walkera would sell replacement servo gear sets.

I just pop this thread up cause I have stripped the elevator servo in a very light crash in std mode with low throttle.
I use the Tom's settings and I agree with DocD

Just a little trick when you strip your gear: rotate the damaged one of 180° (of course it depends of the damaged gear but generaly it's allways the same)

Any recommendations on replacement servos other than Walkera's? I need to stock up.

if i was you i'd try to fix the servo for now. you just have to find the stripped gear and spin it around so only the good threads engage. I stripped on of my servos too and this fix worked. I have had my Genius on the same servos since about 2weeks after they first got released. I need to change the frame on mine though as i had my first really bad spill with and it broke the btty tray and one of the skids.

If you are referring to me, my servo is not stripped, it is the aileron servo and it jitters causing quick changes in pitch. No quick fix for that right?
