Would I be able to use the Phoenix 10 with the e-flite 4100kv motor (10 t pinion) running TP 910's?

I don't know if the ESC can handle the 14.5 amps continuous current and 22 amps max burst current of the 910's. I know it says that it can handle 10 amps continuous and 15 amps max, but in comparison, I see that people are using TP 2070's in a T-rex using a Phoenix 35 which is rated at 45 amp surge and the 2070's max discharge is 103 amps?

Right now I'm using the stock brushed motor with 9 t pinion, 910's, 3 in 1 unit with DD tail and the Align RCE-500X. The tail holds like a rock but it needs more power.

I use a himax 2015 3600 and cc10 with a tp1320 3S pack. Under load, the himax only pulls 8amp at max pitch full throttle.

the batteries are rated for more, the motor is rated for more and the esc will handle sharp bursts but all together on a bcp? you'll never stress it unless your gear mesh is WAY to tight...even then I doubt it. Your 4100kv may pull a bit more than my 3600 with 10t but you would really have to be thrashin continuous hardcore 3D. I'm doing 2500+/- rpm hs at the start of a 1320 pack..(100% at all throttle points)..bleeds down to about 2250 at half pack (5min later).

My esc is never even warm and my TP1320 is barely warm after 14 min of sport flying.

That said, I think 4100kv with a 10T is a bit harsh...a 9T would be better. you just may pull 8amp continuous with that 10T pinion. the 9T will be easier on the electronics and give you more torque while still providing good hs.

Oh, BTW - I also use a bl motor 4100kv feigao on the tail running off another cc10. Still very easy on the battery and no warmth in the tail esc either. of course that motor is barely working and actually gets to 120 deg due to the low rpm...still not to hot and tons of power. snappy nose right piroets. Holds REAL well (GY240 gyro driving everything).

A number of flyers have had successful results with the ARC110 motors and the Phoenix 10. I have just ordered this for myself and look forward to putting it in.
This combination is lighter that the e-flte motor and appropriate Esc and has power to boot.
Good luck,
Scott

I use an Elf Hobby 4200kv with 10T with the Phoenix 10. It flies great with a 9 deg main blade pitch. I kept the CP2's weight to 320g. I use an 11.1v 1000mah 12c lipo. The ESC is just comfortably warm. I fly 8 min with a DD tail setup.

THe Phx 10 will be just fine, it is somewhat underated, I do know a fiend who can pull 13 amps on it all day long. I doubt the 4100 will pull anymore than 8 or 9 max anyways.
