It sounds to me that you're landing in your Idle-Up 1 or 2 config.

Your tx should be set up for at least 2 flight modes, "Normal" and "Idle-Up 1".

Your "Normal" Pitch range should be
-4 -- +5.5 -- +9.5 degrees
which pitch curve wise should be approx:
18 - 38 - 55 - 75 - 94

Idle-Up 1 pitch range should be
-9 -- 0 -- +9 degrees
which pitch curve wise should be approx:
0 - 22 - 46 - 70 - 90

The information you're looking for is on page 28.

As you slow from forward flight the rotor disk goes from acting like a wing with air moving over it, to pushing air down through it. Hovering is less efficent so you need more power. All helicopters do this and you need to be ready to get on the power as you transition to a hover. Its a matter of practice or flipping to normal with a less aggressive pitch curve.
