I was thinking of doing a 10s or 12s setup on an electric conversion for the n9. With the narrow frame of the n9 is this somthing that will fit?

Well after looking at the n9 up close it will take a custom frame to convert to e and that may take away from the n9. So hmm got some more looking to do.

Yeah I did...

Stretch the boom to use 800's+, use the metal blade grips, 12S minimum. Turn the head at 1500 to 1700...

Chuck,

You can do something like this to avoid the coupler and mount the motor higher.

this is just to get it in the air.
but that's not a coupler it's a adaptor from 5mm to 6mm . all one piece,
slides over the output shaft and runs up through the pinion and through the start shaft bearing block.
