I'm interested in buying a new heli in the near future. Right now its Trex vs. Mini Titan. I'm kinda mixed on picking. Dunno what to choose. :arggg: So many variables such as parts, flying ability, durability etc... Price especially!

Anyway, I wanted to know a couple of things. One, is how much are you spending for the heli to get it flying? Is cheaper than a Trex or the same? I have a Lipo charger already and all I need would be the battery, gyro+servo, radio+receiver+servos 3x and heli. I'm in college with a budget so I am looking for heli that fly well and doesn't cost to much.

I also wanted to know how crash resilient it is? What typically breaks or bends in a crash and what are the costs for repairs? What website have MT parts anyway?

Just wanted to know!
Thank You!

The crash damage will be about the same with both heli's having plastic heads. The Mini is built lighter, therefore the parts are just a bit more delicate. This really has no effect though in most average crashes.

There are upgrade parts available for the mini just as the trex. They will both break just about the same parts in a crash if they are comparably equipped, ie. plastic parts. The titan skids are one piece however and you will have to replace the whole set.

What I would consider is parts availability, if your LHS stock parts for one rather than the other I would go with that one.

Let me say this....
I wanted a new (better) heli. I knew the TREXES rules the skies, but I was not sure if I just wanted to go with the flow...... I started looking at the mini titan, researching it, and from what I could gather it was a pretty cool bird, many trex owners stating theat they hardly fly their trexses anymore....

My friend here wo flies pretty good took my titan for a spin, and even tho he had majour doubts.... (we battled with the tail that kept on hunting, fixed by propper digital tail servo) he said that honestly could not say that it flies worse than his trex..... he did not say out loud that it flies better, but he did not say it flies worse that his rex.....

So taking into concideration all of that, you cannot go wrong with a REX, they are proven, but I kinda like the mini titan more.... its new, its gorgeous, and made by a well respected rc manufacturer.

Its really all up to you

I also was in doubt wich one to choose as my second heli, with the knowledge that my first heli (walkera)would probably be collecting dust.
Compared them in all aspects from what I've read on all boards and I ended up with the T-rex SE and the Mini Titan.
The T-rex SE for it's known flight character and durability and bling ofcourse :) and I didn't want to start with another (cheaper)Trex model, because i would spend a lot of money in a short time to upgrade it to a SE version anyway.
The Mini Titan because of the good reviews and also the fact it was new and some kind of a challenge and not to forget it's low pricing.
I went to my LHS compared, talked to the guy, a real Trex freak but also was in the middle of building a mini Titan, took me two hours to conclude i was in love with the Mini Titan.
Bought it (and a lot of other stuff) and have no regrets, still love it :)
It flies very easy, direct, stable and forgiving.
Had some serious dumb thumbs actions in my first flights and was able to correct them easily.
So my advice is touch/feel them and spend some time with both  , and than make a choice.

Thanks for all of you Input. It is greatly appreciated! I love this forum.

I wish I knew someone who owned a Trex SE and MT, then maybe I could try it out. But I'm probably the only one who has an interest in heli. Everyone else is into that thing called MySpace. Now a days no one has hobbies anymore. Oh well!

It looks like when it comes to the Trex, it should be the SE and only the SE. But I dunno the Mini Titan looks really cool. I've seen some vids of it performing some serious 3D and I'm really liking the price as well. Definitely college student based. So...hmmm. I dunno. Im saving money right now to get started so I have quite a while to do some thinking. In the meantime, its back to flying that pesky, tail kicking, bouncy-ball Blade CP. :bomb:

Thanks Again!
