Hi, its the same as the HDX450 as far as I can tell except the HDX comes with a much nicer fiberglass canopy. I have just won an auction for the 3DX on ebay, got it for less than $220 for a bare bones kit, so I'll soon see myself what the quality is like. I really should stop buying more helis, but I can't resist a bargain!

the frame is the same but the head is different.

this is an 3dx500 head

Hi, actually the 3DX pictures on the ebay auction I have won do not show the different head and flybar. The assembly instructions and pdf provided also back this up. As far as I can see it looks the same as the one on Helidirects website (HDX500). I will soon see what it turns out to be when it arrives though.

i order the flybar from helidirect and the sent me this wan.

Helibelly

It may be just small production changes to it as sportsmoto.co.uk describe it as the hdx or 3dx heli.

so what are the differences in the 2 helis then...just the head...

Which head do you prefer, the trex style or the 3DX style... and where can i find a 3dx kit if i choose to go that way...

Good choice in packs FP Baby!! Thanks for sharing the photos.

I think I am going to get the Hirobo Lepton. I have waited a long time and I am going to go for it after hearing how good they fly. Personally I skip HD stuff, but different strokes for different folks.

So the trex style head comes with the HDX kit and a different head comes with the 3DX kit. Does anyone have a preference? I hear the Trex head style is supposed to be more responsive. Is this true? Thanks again all for your help?

If you look on Helidirects website on the front page they show an ad for the hdx.
Among the pictures shown is a picture of the heli with a blue canopy, and it says 3dx on the frame!

i saw that as well...but the frames are identical if you look at both...the only difference between the two are the heads...

Turns out the 3DX I recieved has a different head to the HDX on Helidirects site after all!
I have no idea what the flight differences will be because of this though.

Hi,

Help needed...
what controller settings should be used for the kit motor (switching frequency and timing)? I have a Hiperion Titan 50 A, but is overheating, and the over-temp. protection activates after cca. 5 minutes. I'm thinking to replace it wit a 70A controller.
I run -would like to run it- with 4s, now I have a 24T pinion on the motor. I ordered a 22T and a 20T too, to check the difference.

70A controller or an 80 amp controller wood be ok.
the max amp +- 75 amp i think.
