ok, its great. Now that the 1010C can charge my field battery too, I am thrilled!!!
does anyone know the charge rate for a 12V auto style battery?

I have a small 12v charger that is designed for automotive batteries and it has settings for 2 or 10 amps charge rate. But again it is designed for full size auto batteries. 2 amps would be considered a trickle charge for that size battery.
I think the 1010 can handle small 12v gell cell type batteries made for flight boxes or even small lawnmower/motorcylce type 12v batteries, but I wouldn't use it for full size automobile batteries. reason is even at a 10 amp charge rage it would take a fair amount of time to get it fully charged.
If anyone can add to this please do.... :)

C/10 is the standard charge rate for Pb.

Avatar... "C/10" is not the same at 10C
C/10 = charge rate at 1/10th of rated capacity (charging a 1000mAhr battery at 100mAmp rate)
10C = charge rate of 10 times the rated capicity (charging a 1000mAhr battery at 10Amp rate)
just didn't want you charging your 7.5Ahr flight box battery at 75Amps! :bomb:

Hi just read post and didnt think the charger would do a field battery. If it does, how do I know if I have the latest version or what is the version number that will charge them? Thanks in advance. The hobby battery is a hobbico sealed battery
