Im looking for a second heli to learn, I have a trex450se, i am a learner and i have a lot of youtube vid about blade CP flyers, they look like a quiet stronger heli.

How does it compare to Trex450? what about prices for part and repair?
because they slidely smaller, how do they fly compare to trex450?
i am sure someone in here also own a trex450 might can help me with these questions.

Smaller = more squirrelly. The 450 is much more stable than the BCP. All of my 450 crashes have been cheaper to repair than my BCP crashes - so much so, I haven't flown my CP in months.

My CP is highly modified and flies pretty good for what it is, but it took several hundred dollars and a computer radio to make it so. The 450s I have (SE and SEV2) fly MUCH better and since they're larger, they're easier to see.

Instead of spending money on a "substandard" heli, buy a good sim and practice on it then take what you learn to the 450SE and do it for real.

My $0.02

I have to agree with Skiddz, a simulator will help a lot. I have a blade CP Pro that I have crashed at least 6 times. The cheapest was $18.00. :( The most expensive was $150. I purchased RealFlight 3.5, and downloaded the Blade CP Pro model from RealFlight swap pages, and have kept my crash factor down. :glasses2: If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would have invested in a Trex 450 instead of the Blade CP Pro. :arggg: The truth is, it will take a lot of investing to make the Blade equal to a Trex 450. Hmm, I might have to invest in a Trex 450se V2.

im with every one else. just buy a sim. i have realflight g3.5. i dont use the min i helis but i fly with the dominion 90. in the sim i can hover any way i want. do fairly good inverted hovering in any way. im learn auto's, oh and i can do the trick that got me interested in helis...tic toc's. in real life tho im styaing with hovering till i can do it in my sleep.

speaking of real flight i need to get my 2 hours in for the day..

have you guys tried out some of the new CPP models for G3.5? They are really nice....well some of em are. I like the origonal verson the most. The CPP Etail version is too noisy. LOL

I went from a Blade CP to a Raptor E-620 :wow2: I could not believe how much easier and fun the e-620 is to fly!!! I flew my buddies Mini-Titan yesterday and it was smooth and stable..... love it! Gonna get one of those soon.

ya on the sim you can tell how much easyer it is to fly a larger heli then the smaller ones. honestly i installed the sim and went to the biggest nitro bird i could find. a few weeks later i tryed the axe cp, 30 seconds after take off i said to hell this that. never used it again.

DON'T DO IT ! Every Blade owner is chompin' at the bit to get a Trex.....so you already have what you need. The CP and CPP are definately crazy to fly. They say if you can fly it you can fly anything. Spend your money on some cool stuff for your Trex.

I agree with everyone. I love my $800+ CPP but, after getting a rex V2 I never fly my CPP anymore. I may someday? I think I'll get a tail mod for it since thats the last thing I can get. I've crashed one time with the rex so far. New blades, tail boom and a belt. If it had been my CPP I would have had to replace a lot more than that at a MUCH higher price. I get 3 rex main shafts for $8, 2 tail booms for around $9. Parts are cheaper in the long run and you cant compare a CPP to a rex or other heli. Ya there fun, small and you can hover in your living room but, save a lot of $$ and get the sim. Save your pennys for a Rex, Mini or another bird.

i started with the cpp also 2months ago the reason i picked that brand was because lhs have the parts for it and i taught this heli was popular easier to get parts. until now i cant seems to hover longer than 5sec. each flight will most likely equall a repair or tuning also it is true if u can fly the cpp u can fly anything but by that time the cpp has gone into a major transplant already and it probably cost u more than the trex..i got me a trex and i was able to hover right out of the box :D save your money and get a flight sim instead. oh yeah if u have a high blood preasure problem cpp is not good for u..

rudderman,

Your in the same boat I'm in. My requisition to the Wife for the Trex was denied, (something about a power bill, groceries, car payment, etc. etc....it's all noise to me).

The CPP is a lot of fun to fly if its well set up (can make it very docile with pitch and servo link adjustments..or all out per May RCHeli article) ) AND you know how to fly to begin with. Its responsive and can fly circuits and eights in your backyard...hard to do with a 450..need more room.

Its delicate as hell....won't take much of a bump before you're fixing it.

As Eflite says its for experienced heli pilots...the better I get the more I enjoy it. Not a great trainer though, even if many of us use it for that.

I was flying a Rex 450, but after learning to hover I bought a Blade Pro to learn nose in and forward flight with. It worked great for me. I have a sim but it is just so boring that I hardly ever use it. Getting outside with a real heli just works better for me. It flies great in stock form with a HH gyro. A few other mods makes it fly even better. I wouldn't dump a lot of money into it as a primary heli, but its a great 3rd or 4th

I am more pratical. Think about how often you can go out to the field to fly a Trex then flying at your back yard or living room. I am able to fly a CCP 10 times more often than a Trex because of that. I have both helis, sure the Trex is a much better heli but I don't get to fly it and I get kicked out by a park ranger when I do. I don't care about the cost of a CCP crash knowing that it is an expensive hobby from the start. I vote for CCP over Trex anytime because I am able to fly more often. I own a simulator G3.5 and it gets boring.

If you can fly Your Blade cp in Your back yard , You can Fly the TREX even easer. I learned to hover indoors in a 6 x 6 Room and graduated to foward flight in My back yard .
You can see Me do Both on Youtube.com Search for ( itsmeray01 )

the cpp is actually pretty strong. i went down 5 times in minutes with no damage then a slightly more wobbley head. it wasnt untill yesterday i went down hard doing a side in hover. splintered the tail boom. also lost a tail motor heat sink. all in 5 bucks plus a bottle of debonder.

I'm a noob with a blade cpp. My first flight or crash was incredible. i now have around 25 to 30 batt. packs through it and can hover a full pack through without a crash. (usually) But when i leave the garage, smooth floors, and go into the yard to get adventurous i crash and cause alot more damage than i would in the garage. I think it's due to wind factors and the fact that i get alot more daring when i'm in the yard. Alot of pilots say the bigger birds are easier to fly. I can only imagine flying something easier. Less crashes, more flight time. Time to start working on the wife. Think she will see my reasoning for a bigger price tag???

I've had a CP Pro for a while and crashed a few times and the worst I've had is broken blades and a bent main shaft. I've hit some stuff pretty hard and somehow still haven't broken a tail boom, tail rotor blade or stabilizer bars, only blades and main shafts. I think all the Blade helis have really weak main shafts on em cause the only problem I ever had with my CX was breaking of bending those.

upgrade tpo the micro heli main shaft, with auto main gear. in all my crashes id end up replacing the stock main gear atlest every othercrash. with the micro heli one i got about 9 crashes on my last main shaft. i replaced it this time cuz i had to replace the frame

I have crashed my CPP a bunch and the most expensive thing I have had to buy was Blades, alot of blades. Until I went to the crash resistant blades, Main shaft, spindle shaft and a tail boom. I am still waiting on parts it takes about a week to get them. The company I ordered from were real nice and thru in first class mail for free, too bad I am in in Iraq and First class is as good as worst class.

I build mini's and mostly fly my frankenblade. I've got quite a few REALLY NICE shoguns, prices are dirt cheap on gun parts if you know where to look and its a very light heli. Granted, my good ones don't have very many stock parts.

I love my BCP (no original electronics) and it flies OK. Its my basher and gets the most stick time. For instance, I shattered my ankle a couple weeks ago and am on hydrocodone 7.5's....one every 4 hours. After two weeks of "foot in the air" boredom and 100's of boring hours on the sim...I finally put my butt in a lawn chair and flew my frankenblade in the back yard today. The drugs are a definite inhibitor but the pain keeps the drugs at bay. Had a good "basics" flight and ended in one piece. ....talk about a heli junkie....can't live well without.

Bottom line, I would never have flow one of my 1k++ guns in this condition. My little blade gives me the rush I need without endangering my good ships. Its a tough little heli and well worth the $800 I have in it. If you consider the fact it has over 330 hours on it......that's only $2.50 an hour. Cheap thills IMO.

flying outside in the wind with my pro isnt a big deal. when the wind kicksup and hte heli starts to lift higher. just bring the throttle down alittle till it stops climbing. now here is where you gotta watch the wind before it affects your heli. when the wind stops you have to increase the throttle. other wise the heli will fall depending on how much you had to back off the throttle. the cp or cpp is a good heli, id say learn to hover tail in with a rex, then get a pro aned learn the other directions. my rex will only be doing tail in hovering. till i can get side in down really good then nose in.
