Wow! I just bought a used Gasser from ebay and it arrived. Sitting next to my TREX, it has completely changed my perspective on helicopters. Unfortunately, the gasser is not in the condition I thought it was (has light rust on all bolts, broken servo mount, etc) as it was represented to have two hover flights on it only.
I am being philosophical in that I have been wanting one for awhile but unwilling to spend the money until I was more profecient on my TREX.
This will allow me to tear it down and understand all of the parts to the machine.
QUESTION: there is a white round collar that is loose (just flopping around) in the fan shroud and around the shaft????
Plus, there's no intake on the carb, just 2 screws???
thanks for all of your help (now and in the future)

Can you get a pic of the loose part or size?
Even with a few repairs necessary, you're still going to love it.

Glad you joined the Bergen gasser world ,,but I am sorry the eBay experience turned out bad . Sounds like you have a very positive attitude though by making something good out of it any way , and it will make you more proficient at setting up the bird and more confident in it once you tear it apart and repair it to the condition that you wanted ... it is best to do this on any heli you buy off a board anyhow ,,,you just don't know how the other guy put it together and if he used locktite or if he even read the manual putting it together or did he throw a bunch of bad parts inside it just to sell it .
There should be nothing inside the fan shroud ,,but the fan itself ..
The no intake on the carb is o.k. === usually there is a stock filter or a polished alum . venturi that Bergen sells as an up grade to give it more air. This guy probably just removed the filter and didn't bother to get the Venturi
Like Mark said pix will help and you are going to love it when you get it running .. nothing like going to the field with just your bird , gas can, and radio .. and almost forgot the best part ,,,only 3.09 for gas not 22.00 or more for nitro :badair: :badair:

Thanks for the support. Very excited to dig into it and begin the learning curve. I have heard so much about the wonderful support from Bergen and the community that the only worry I have is my flying ability!
Thanks
