Sorry, fellas! Last time I looked I thought this thread was dead... :dontknow
TH..normal mode= 0-38-80-93-96.5 Idle 1&2= 100-93-80-93-100
PCH..normal mode=41-44-45-75-100 Idle 1&2=0-25-45-75-100
This is what I have for %s with my set-up using a 9CHPS Tx. The pitch curves translate to 10 degrees pos/neg at max. Normal mode low stick is about neg 3 degrees pitch.

What is that switch on the top left of the stock transmitter. I switched it on the heli went crazy. I immediately turned it off. It's a good thing that I was low in the ground practicing hops. On broken anything whew !!!
I guess more practice on the simulator.
And how about the switch at the top right too. I tried flipping it on and nothing seems to happen.
I like this bird so different from the CX2 that I just graduated from.

Never used the stock tx but I would assume the switch on the top left is idle up. That will make bad things happen if switched at the wrong time, indeed! Don't worry about idle up till your ready for FF.

I gave it a try and guess what I broke two blade.
I ordered the same kind wooden ones. Trying to look for other types of blades for a newbie coz the original are expensive and fragile.
This bird is so different from the coaxial that I am used to.

Damn! You've got the pitch at full stick 10*, I tried upping the pitch and head rpm but this thing must not have enough power. the blades track perfect and everthing sits nice and level on spool up. I'm using the esky-3100kv and 10t pinion at just over 500 grams. I'm thinkin this motor aint powerful enough to comp the weight.

The switch is for idle 1 to fly inverted. Don't touch the switch till you've got hovering and forward flight down pat. The idle switch should only be flipped when you've got the throttle at mid stick then it will give negative pitch on the blades and full throttle and bottom stick. I know with Esky transmitters the linier curve for pitch is supposed to be 0,25,50,75,100 but when using the stock transmitter it's more like 20,30,50,75,100 beacuse I can only get full range of +8, -4 with flying stock.

I have a G3 simulation what heli model should I use when practicing for the HB king 2.
Most of the heli's I see are nitro helis except for a few electric.
Still waiting for what other blades are compatible with the King 2 other than the wooden stock.
thanks

Esky 3800 BL with 9T tachs at 2450 on this set-up I fly at the moment. I will double check that tomorrow, but pretty sure that is what I got the last time I had reason to check the HS.
Edit: The set-up calculations are great for getting in the ballpark but you really have to tach the system in operation to figure out what's really going on. If the heli won't even lift off the deck at about 4/5 degrees positive, then I would suspect the HS is really dragging for some reason. :dontknow

I too just received the V2. I am just a nooby and am still working on the hover.
The chopper seems very well made compared to my Blade CP.
Lots more stable and easier to learn on.
The charger is not up to the task so I will upgrade it.
Are there any picks you guys use? Not too expensive.

One charger that is often overlooked that will charge NiCad/NiMh and lipo is the Dynamite Ultra Vision Peak (or something to that effect). It has a built in pwr suppy so it can also be just plugged into the wall. You just have to adapt the stupid Tamiya connector to you battery plug style. Pretty good all around charger for a minimum investment though. I do strongly recommend getting a cell balancer for use with any charger that is not equipped with such. Thunder Power makes a nice little unit you use in conjunction with the charger. It will keep your batteries happy! By the way, these Dynamite chargers can usually be found on E-bay for around 40 to 50 bucks. I use the Dynamite for my pack around/knock around charger and a Triton with separate pwr suppy for my shop (both in conjunction with the Thunder Power balancer).

Ditto to that! I got a barebones kit for a parts supply but the KV2 flys so nice and predictable that I decided to get the BB flying also. This one will use a JGF400DH w/9T steel pinion, Logictech 2100 gyro, R146iP PCM rx, Align 35A ESC. I am going to also get a uH swash and use HS55s for swash/HS50 for tail. Pictured as it sets awaiting parts with an HB Cool canopy and new paint job.The white covering has been removed from a set of stock woodies and replaced with flat black iron on Monokote. The paddles and tail blades are lightly sprayed flat black. Should be a pretty nice combo eventually trimmed in gold. :glasses2:

Now on Discovery HD. American Heli
Nice heli, rebuild! Good "idear" with the trex skids.
I was trying to compare the Trex shaft with the King's today. They kind of look the same. I'll break down the king tomorrow to verify.
Anyways, here's my theme heli. All the electronics have been salavaged from the wreckage of the Blade CPP (now in the bone yard). I am using a hs-81mg for the tail.

Hi Rebuild!
Nice looking bird you have there! How is the re-paint holding up for you so far? That's the stock plastic canopy, right?
I want to repaint my HBK's canopy and therefor looking for experiences with that!

Hi Rebuild, i noticed on one of your pics on you HBK2- http://www.helifreak.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=19657&d=1178394694 -that you had the battery more mounted like a T-Rex 450 with the battery pointed down i was just wondering how you did that and still have the battery held securely
appericiate any info, thanks

I thought this thread dead(again)..sorry..but to answer your questions..I elevated the battery mount and used an HB Cool conopy. It is a little bigger and allows room for a CS1400 lipo with the upper mount. Just clean canopy well and de-glaze with fine sandpaper prior to painting. I use Model Master laquer and clear coat for these..dries fast and stays stuck. The battery tray is cut from phenolic perf board like available at R-Shack. Supporting wedge is made from balsa and soaked with CA for strength. Servo tape positions it initailly on the frame and a vert and horizontal zip tie secures it. I have four set-ups like this that I have never had a problem with. Here is a couple of pics of the assy.

Guys, i have just upgraded my stock King 2 to 3800KV brushless with 9T pinion, Esky 0407A HH gyro, 9CHP, 1800mah Lipo and another 22000Mah lipo. i post my question on the wrong site, so there is no response, then a buddy give this link to me. hope to hear from you guys.
after watch bob video on CCPM setting Part 1&2 on trex with 7CHP, i follow the tutorial, but i found that on king 2 compared to Trex 450SE, some of the linkage on King 2 are actually fixed, like the top linkage (dunno wat its call) that we place it within the blade holder and also another one above. so my question here is how do we set the pitch for low, mid, and high throttle with 9CHP? B4 my upgrade, i always full throttle and set the pitch at +10, totally ignoring the mid and low throttle, but finless video says that we need to set the pitch at different level. Do we use the throttle curve to set this pitch? coz i was figuring out the whole nite playing with throttle and pitch curve, wasn't sure it i did anything wrong. here is wat i use, pls advise if its ok
throttle curve 0, 25, 50, 75, 100
pitch curve 45, 50, 60, 80, 100 - i play with this until i got the -6 on low, 0 at mid, +10 at full throttle (previously was linear as well, but then i m having too much pitch beyond my pitch gauge can read)
Esky HH gyro, somehow it tend to spin super fast in clockwise direction, then when i push right rudder it stop, but the when i let go, it spins crazy again. i remember my frenz who use coclo GY400 also like that, we tried everything, but when we about to give up, it went ok. so may i know whats wrong with it? is there a switch on 9CHP that we need to on to use HH? i even use the reserve gyro on tx, but it can only turn rudder right, and no left, so i switch back to normal.
oh yah guys, i want to thank finless for making that video, its been super useful to newbie like me. another thing that i figured out the whole nite is the swash menu, we need to set under the parameter to SR-3 heli before the swash menu will appear, just to share this info.
another thing i got stuck when following finless video is the CCPM interaction. it says tat we need to use bubble level to set the end points, somehow i can't find a bubble level, is there any other way out here? BOB help!!!
urgent help needed coz intend to fly tonite. haha...

Uniq, start with the tail spin and get ride of that. Try the controller TX at normal, This ony changes the direction of the servo. What you have to do is change the direction of the Gyro. Not in the controller but on the gyro its self there should be a little switch that says normal/reverse. change this to the oposite directions its in now. IE: if its in reverse but it to normal or vis versa.
What you have to realize is that the CCPM interaction you have to make sure that the heli is level to begine with this is only if you ahve any interaction at all. You may not ahve any. watchthat 2200ma lipo. For a HBK2 that is probly to heave, put a lot of stress on the heli just to lift it.
Pitch:
Disconnect your motor, and then turn on the tx/rx and place the controller in one of the 2 stunt modes. Center the throttle/pitch stick and center throttle in stunte mode should be zero. And I managed to get my nephew HBK2 to go +10 -10 with a liniar pitch curve. Back in normal mode with the pitch curves you mentioned above, should yeild +10 -3
For a video, finless has created many remarkable videos for helping other. Go hear, http://helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=41692 and reveiw the CCPM parts 1+2 videos and then pitch video, and cheak you the Align/Telebee gyro set up. Although not the same as the esky, they are similar in setup, if you havent already. The step by step plus visual he gives is a great guide.
Let us know how you make out.

Uniq, you can still setup just like Finless shows but you don't have the fine tune pitch adjustment on the HBK2. It just limits our ability to fine tune the tracking, but pitch it still easily controlled.
First set you servos at neutral, 90 degrees to link movement (left stick in middle position for idle up) and then set your zero blade pitch there. Then use your swash pitch mix to set you upper and lower limits for pitch travel. I have the Dx7 (with S75 servos) and mine is around 70% I believe, and I get +12 and -12 when I measure the full max and full minimum pitch. You should be able to run 12 degrees pitch with the 3800kv. Mine run fine with no bogging with the 3900kv and 10 tooth pinion.
I suggest that you have your throttle curve on normal get upto 80% by mid stick so that your running your motor in its efficient range when you start to hover... its much easier on the electronics.
My curves are:
Normal
Throttle:
0 60 80 90 100
Pitch:
40 45 50 75 100
Idle Up
Throttle:
100 95 90 95 100
Pitch:
0 25 50 75 100
Hope that helps...

thanks guys for the help. i have get the above setup correctly, the main problem now lies with gyro, as per finless video, he said that for GY401, if tx is HH on, gyro will turn solid blink, n when u flip to normal mode, it stop blink, but for my esky HH, it always remain at blue after initializing. here it comes, when u rudder right, it will remain at right, then very very slowly move ALL THE WAY to the LEFT, so u can't expect to go back to center and rudder left. is that the way HH shd work? i have set 100% on my gyro potention meter, with 50% on radio. there is a "mix" under gyro menu, i off it. hmm, help, hoping to fly this noon if possible.
as for the battery, i think it really is too big, coz my canopy is struggling to grib in the post. i think will use my stock 1000mah lipo, do u think its ok? coz discharge rate only 10C
