Well I have my guaranteed ready to fly heli from Ebay that came with the flybar cage mounted upside down along with other things messed up and a bent spindle. So I fixed that stuff, I added the correct step washers in the head so the head is now soft but there is no side to side play. I set the pitch, everything looks like a go.

I take the thing out, fire it up, check tail direction, yep, good, bring it up, and all of a sudden the tail goes crazy and it smacks into the ground. I'm guessing maybe something with the 3 n 1 or something like that? I switched to a different set of blades as I"m not sure if the first set were good, not sure if the second set are great either, but before I destroy my brand new 15 dollar symmetrical blades, I"d like to get this thing flying.

So can someone give me some baseline settings to get this thing in the air. It seems to just want to fall over to the left when I start it up, haven't tried it again yet since swapping the blades. Where do I keep the throttle trim after starting up, do you guys raise it or leave it at the lowest postion? The servos seem to be good, doesn't seem like the teeth are broken or anything.

Just so you know, I am finishing up a trex 600, I fly a trex450, I also have a mini zoom that I put together and it flys with no problem and I had a walkera 52 that I sold that I flew. I should have no problems getting this thing to fly. Everything seems to be spot on, the only thing I can think of is it is something with the electronics. Maybe I need to put some shims in the head, but it doesn't have any play so I don't see that being the issue.

Anyway, Please help, I'd like to finish my 600 but I"m spending all weekend on this "guaranteed to fly out of the box heli" No really, thats how it was sold on ebay. The servos couldn't even move the pitch because stuff was backwards but it was going to fly LOL

Did you check to see that ALL 3 servos are moving down equally as you move the collective stick up? You sure all three servos have the links attached at the same distance from the mounting screw?

You mentioned the tail goes crazy.. Crazy as in the heli starts spinning? If so, which way?? You may have the TR motor connected backwards or the channel is reversed in the TX or your proportional mix/gain aren't set properly.

it takes off okay, but then the tail is just out of control. I check on the ground and the tail is moving the correct way and such, obviously if the gyro was reversed, it would just spin out of control, it is not doing that. but when it takes off, it starts moving one direction, so I counter, but its not like flying rate mode on the trex450, its just out of control completely.

i'm not sure really how I'm supposed to setup the 3n1, its supposed to come setup from the factory which this one apparenlty is not.

Unfortunately, trial and error means way too many broken parts on this thing. I've never had this much trouble setting up a heli, I"m thinking of just throwing a heading hold gyro on and seeing if that solves the problem.

hack you tryed replacing the tail motor. do a direct drive with the gws edp 50xc motor and 3020 prop. recheck your connections on the rx, make sure the tail is plugged in corectly. they dont fly these things at thefactory. when i got my first cpp i had it for about 10 minutes. couldnt get the 3n1 to arm, i had to swap it out another cpp. then that one was so bad that it woudlnt fly. but the heli guy at the hobby shop caught it and corrected everything before i left

put it back on fleabay and hope to recover your initial expense..

well the heading hold is installed. I am planning to put a direct drive tail in but wanted to see if this thing was going to fly decent enough to warrant putting some money into it. I think maybe the tail motor is bad. Its spinning really slowly.

im pretty sure its your tail motor. when you do your direct drive get a esc for just the tail.

with my dd set wich was the edp50xc motor with 3020 prop. when i punch it id get a good 6 to 8 inches of kick in the tail. every that adds a tail esc and does away with the 3n1. says that it gets rid of pretty mcuh all the kick

yea, I'm probably gonna go with the direct drive setup and esc soon, but would be nice to see it work the way it is, I'm basically experimenting at this point to see if this can take the place of my trex450 as I don't really have room for it in the back yard. I have the 600 for bigger spaces.

Maybe you need a bigger back yard. :)

The last time I flew my CP, it was in my living room.. Come to think of it, most of it's flight time has been in my living room. :)

Its the tail motor most likely. They first get weak, and the heli just spins. Seen it a lot. Weakest part of the CPP.

yea, well if it doesn't hold with the heading hold, then its gotta be the tail motor.
tower is out of the direct drive components unfortuantly.

bphobbies.com

they sell it as a kit. 10.77 for the gws edp50xc motor with 2 press on 3020 props. if you order early enough in the day they ship the same day..

yea, I tried the heading hold gyro this morning, the tail wasn't doing much of anything, the tail motor is spinning, but it seems not enough to contreract the heli, I theink the motor is burned.

yea, I saw it there at one point, I can't find it now though, do you have a link?

bp hobbies is out of stock as well. I will have to wait for tower I guess. I'll probably just buy a new tail motor for the mean time.
