Im putting together a buy for a Thunder King e620 and was wondering what the difference is between;
the Futaba GY611 and GY401 Gyros.

Which would be a better buy and future upgrade.

The 6 range futaba's are obviuosly a step up from the 4 range.

From what i've heard the 401 is pretty damn good, alot of guys do alot of stuff with it....

I think a 6 range would be overkill unless you are a very experienced pilot...

The 6 is also alot bigger than the 4, if i'm not msitaken, so there would be a weight difference...

If you are not a expereinced 3d pilot i don't think you will notice a better performance issue with the 6.

I opted for the CSM420, and it is supposed to perform similarly to the 401. Alot of good 3D pilots use the 420 with excellent results.

I use a GY401 and it rocks!! A GY611 shines bright when it comes to fast backwards flight. If you just sport fly and aren't into heavy 3D the 401 will hold the tail perfect!

Thanks for the insight, and considering the cost difference and my medicore flying skills, I believe the 401 will be more that enough. Thanks

I have a 611 on my Titan and a 401/9254 on my 30V2. For simple flying with some loops and rolls I can't really tell much of a difference between the two. From what I have read the 611 shines the brightest in backwards flight and keeping a consistant piro rate through piro tricks (piroflips, etc).
