View Full Version : Would a JR921 9-Channel receiver work with a DX7?

Hi folks,

I am planning to buy a second heli and therefore I need a second receiver.
The radio I already have is a Spektrum DX7 with the AR7000 receiver.

For the new heli I'd like to add a 9-channel receiver, as this one will be a scale model later and I would like to have the spare channel for upgrades.

Would a JR921 receiver work with the Spektrum DX7? Or should I buy another AR7000 and sell both with the radio, once I go for the larger radio?

TIA

No! The DX7 is 2.4g and that RX is FM. You need another AR7000. Also the DX7 is only 7 channels so using a 9 channel RX is a waste of 2 channels since you cant use them. When Spektrum comes out with the AR9000 you still wont be able to use the extra 2 channels... So get another AR7000.

Finless, you are mistaken. The JR 921 is the JR 2.4 Ghz 9 channel receiver. It is based on the DSM2 tech.

I am 99% sure it will work with the DX7 - just not the last two channels of course.

Hi Bob,

the JR X9303 with the JR921 is the brandnew 2.4GHz radio, which touches the market in July. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRP29251

I am considering to change the radio later this year, but would need a second receiver earlier, that's why I am checking on compatibility. I know, that I would not be able to use more than 7 channels.

Maybe it's just easier to buy the 2nd AR7000 and sell all the stuff later, when I upgrade to a 2.4-9CH.

Thanks for the comments.

Best regards

Joerg

The JR921 (aka AR9000) will definately work with the DX7 for the first 7 channels. I'm in a similar situation where I need at least 8 channels for my next heli. I think the new 9 channel equipment is still fairly hard to get ahold of though so I'll probably get impatient and end up getting an AR7000 in the meantime. Resale value should be decent since this is the hottest stuff out.

The X9303 IS the DX9, and it seems the 921 IS the AR9000. So they SHOULD work.
