I don't know if my motor is getting too hot, it's 109 degrees after only 3 minutes of hovering in the house. I don't think the brushed motor got that hot with the 9 tooth pinion. I haven't even tried it outside yet. I'm running the e-flite 4100 kv motor (no heatsink) w/8 tooth pinion, phoenix 10, tp 910 batteries, 3 in 1, and align gyro w/dd motor. The throttle curve is linear from 0 to 100 and the pitch curve is nothing crazy, 0 to 10 degrees. 5 at mid stick. I've even tried using 75 percent throttle at mid stick thinking that the head speed was not enough. Battery and speed control not even warm, gear mesh seems good. Maybe this is normal?

I never checked the temp on my trex motor but I don't think it gets that hot. I can't figure it out. Now i'm thinking I should have stayed with the brushed motor.
