I started heli about two months ago when I bought the small Lama. Two weeks after, I bought the lepton. I had too much fun, but did not like waiting for the battery to re-charge. So, Today, I bought the Sceadu with digital servo, the OS .50 Hyper and a G401 as I have in the lepton.
I followed finless video to assemble the Lepton. Are there any videos for the Sceadu ?
Or any tips would be appreciated. I know not every thing is in the manual. So all comments are more than welcome.

Hirobo stuff is pretty straight forward. The sceadu is a good bird, nothing too overly complicated about it.

Thanks a lot Ivan. I have not started yet. I'm still at the 'read the manual before assembly' step.
I should also read the forum. I saw that there are some mods that needs to be done.

Hi
Just follow the manual and thread lock where it tells you.
If you come across a ally radius block, get one, as the plastic kit one will crack after a bit. Cost me two crashes before I figured what had happened, Oh listen to advice on the freaks, if I had done this and got an ally radius block I would not have crashed twice :arggg:
Use good servos and check everything after each flight, nuts and bolts and screws need to keep tight.
Get rid of the kit muffler the two par Hirobo one has a habit of falling apart inflight.
Good luck its a great Heli

made exactly the same steps, lama -> lepton -> EVO50, also I was tired for waiting the batteries to be charged just only after 6-7 min. Anyway very good choice, and after building the lepton you will not have a problem with the EVO either, it's basically same. Of course you might need to study now the clutch alignment, throttle servo settings and also breaking-in, that is for sure the most important thing to do. And then, do yourself a good thing and get a gov as well, I mean you still need to tune the engine not using it, but you will want to have it, also you probably want to have a regulated power system, such as arizona, but maybe not in the begining. Then as stated, radius ally and nice muffler is must (e.g. hattori or funtech), carbon tails and fins nice to have ... I also bought some better screws for the frame and the 3rd bearing holder for the tail, and two distance holder for the frame same time holding the tank as well.
I agree on the aluminum radius block. That is probably the weak point of the sceadu.
I use an old Hatori from a YS 61 heli engine on my 50 and it works great and is really quite.
I have an aluminum third bearing block but haven't put it in yet, the plastic one works fine. NOt too much need upgrading on this bird. I did do away with the tail boom mounted servo and stuffed it up under my cabin. You will understand why the next time your boom and heli are divorced from each other in a crash and the circuit board from you $120 tail servo is ripped in two.
I also put the landing gear from an old venture 50 on it, since it is nice and low, and looks so much better on a sliding auto. :glasses2:

My Evo is stock with the exception of the metal radius block - a must have. I've been flying mine for over year now and have been learning mild 3D with it. So far nothing has worn out or broken from the abuse. It's a great all around heli in my book.

Thanks a lot. I started to fly the Sceadu. I just love it. I can fly, refuel and fly again. I burned half of a gallon of fuel last Sunday afternoon. I find it easier to fly than the lepton. That might be me.....
They guys at the club told me I should buy the radius block and a pipe. Should a beginner really need a pipe (muffler) for more horse power. I do not think so...
More horsies are always a good thing.

If you are hovering, dont sweat it. For general flying or aerobatics, definetly. The motor will run much smoother and hold rpms if it can breathe better. Hatori or Curtis MP will do .Have fun with the new 50!
