ya so i got my new cc10 in from castle. everything works but the tail seems to be just spinning insanely fast and not only that, it gets really hot really fast, and so does the esc. so i dont know what else to do but install my pixie 20p and aanother gws motor.. any insight into my problem ? do i need to just hook up the main and try to fly it ?

Wow, sorry to hear that. Mine flys fine. Temp on the Tail are around 134f and the ESC maybe 120-130f. Only time it really gets hot for me is with the larger prop and if I dont control the spool up. You dont have it in govenor mode do you?

ya i was following the setup on the link in the pm you sent.

btw i just ordered a different motor other then the edp 50xc motor. it says its the same just with a larger prop. but i will be using the 3020 prop. unless i get this bl tail working, to where i feel that its ready for some hovering test

I have to tell ya, I'm seriously thinking of getting a freestyle belt mod for my CPP. After flying a belt tail bird, I should have done that to start with. Mine still flys good but not not a belt tail heli.

ya ive thought about doing a belt drive tail. but once this bird is back in the air replacment parts only. untill i get a new radio.

ok so govenor mode bad ?

ok so i just turned govenor mode off, and set the spool up speed down to 0. but still with the rudder stick sitting where it does by its self. one click up and it spins fast enough to spin the heli on the ground. i haveti weighed down to where i can check stuff out with out damage.i had to turn the prop around cuz it was spooling up so fast that the prop would come flying off.

does it come with the main gear setup for the belt ? and how does it fly ?

i gotta do something ive flown in awhile. i seriously think i have forgot how. lol

hey gino how hard is it set up a brushed esc for the tail of a pro ? hell im even thinking of just putting the 3n1 back in. or doing whats shown above.

It uses the stock main gear. A pulley bolts underneath. The mod is very well thought out but simple. The reinforcing plate bolts to the 4-in-1 shelf and on the tail boom clamp. The boom clamp , clamps on the stock boom which you cut off or replace with a shorter tube.

Flight is very smooth. No motor tail comes close. I don't fly inverted so I can't completely evaluate this tail for flip response. I also do not know how the flip rate is affected because this is heavier than a dd setup.

how bad was the cg off ? thats a rex tail right ? im thinking my lhs has all that stuff, maybe i could just go buy what i need. is the pully also a rex pully or a custom made for this kit pully ? would the eflite s60 servo work for the tail ?

Trex tail, Honeybee King blades. Pulleys, cf plate, boom clamp (this is the real genius part), tail box clamp, aluminum tail side piece, 9mm boom are exclusive Freestyle parts. This is one thought out and well made kit. I suggest saving yourself the R&D and buying the kit. If only out of respect for the design. Plus the machine work is just plain eyecandy.

My second crash today. No damage. A paddle control link popped off. Heard a loud wooden pop and lost cyuclic control. Switch on throttle hold and heli, fell 6 feet with tail control haha. Amazing. Momentum powered. Boom just twisted a bit. Main gear is unscathed thanks to the CF plate which stiffens the airframe. I am very impressed.

gino, have you done an actual review of the belt mod? i'd be interested to see what you think. thanks!

$100 as listed is Australian Dollars. Search for "Belt Mod". Not the all-belt conversion. This mod still uses gears for the main rotor.

Review coming up. I'll post in a separate thread.

well i just got done putting my old 3n1 back and turns out my dd motor wasnt dead after all. but with the big 4530 prop the motor gets blistering hot. ive got some 3020's on the way. i think tomorrow will be the first time in close to a month that the skids on my bird will leave the ground.

That's the kit I got. But I chose the carbon option and plastic tail. Took 3 weeks by airmail uninsured. But not a fault of Australian shipping. It's the Philippine postal ineffciency. Most arrive the US in 2 weeks or less. You can choose express mail (EMS) and it should be there in 4-5 days. A bit pricey.

thats weird i added the kit to the cart. went to check out. so i can see the price with shipping. it only gave me 1 option for shipping

well i did my first spool up test just now. i set the heli in my driveway and spun it up to almost lifting off. i guess im alittle scared since i havent had it powered up in awhile. i guess this is my moment. either its going to fly tomorrow or its going to be one hell of a crash.

lol thanks man. i said that cuz i havent had a really bad crash yet. last time i flew i had a issue with the heli banking right. combine that with a out of control tail.

Who can be more complete and more specific on the belt drive mod. I want to upgrade my CP Pro to the new belt drive but what about parts availability? Someone please list each part of the mod and specify which part on the mod can be purchased from local hobby store and which parts of the mod I have to wait for shipping from Australia? I went to the Australian website
http://www.freestyle-hobby.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=39

$100 mode includes everything? Does it come with aloy boom or carbon? The aloy boom they have listed for $7.50, is it built for the mod or do I get that with the complete set for $100 ?

These are the options to upgrade to a belt drive tail for my Blade CP Pro.
At http://www.freestyle-hobby.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=39&products_id=199

The following options can be added to the $100 mod kit. Can someone tell me on the option "Blade CP/fp, f/glass and metal tail (+35.00)"? f/glass is on what part and metal tail is actually the Trex metal tail, correct? What happens when you break the tail boom or the belt, can you find replacement at local hobby store in USA ? If not which item is the Alloy boom that fits the mod? What do you get if you don't choose any of the options, plastic on everything and what type of boom? So many parts and options, I am confused. Please be more detail for each questions.

To suit Honey Bee CP/FP, F/glass, metall tail (+25.00)
To suit Honey Bee CP/FP, f/glass with plastic tail
To suit Honey Bee CP/FP,CARBON with plastic tail (+30.00)
