Just thought I would share an "Oh $H!#" moment I had this afternoon. I've been getting more comfortable doing my circuits with my Trex 450, and on my third (and last) battery pack this afternoon decided to bump it up another notch and push my comfort level a bit.
I wasn't quite doing stall turns, but getting pretty close. I'd zip along as fast as I've ever gone in FF and climb up at a 45 degree angle. As the heli slowed down, I'd whip the tail around and drop back down to about 15 feet and zoom right back across maybe 10-15 feet in front of me. I was pushing the turn higher and higher, going faster and faster, and just getting a kick out of seeing my heli zoom past me.
We'll I must have pushed it a bit too far and miscalculated one of my turns and brought the heli straight back over top of me! :shock: :oops: I would have probably been OK right where I was, but I sure got a shot of adrenaline as I jumped back and ducked as it roared over top of me. Almost gave new meaning to my screen name!
Throttled back the heli, brought it back into a nice hover, and spent the the rest of the pack practicing hovering side and nose in. :roll:
