I want to get the Ham ticket for running higher power wireless video, 1 watt. I'm curious as to how many AP'ers actually have the Ham ticket and just how long the study is? What's the best source for getting the license? Thanks for any assistance.
It's crazy that I sometimes do the microwave links for heli's and blimps shooting sporting events with Wescams. We use 10 Watt, 2.5 gig TX's but I'm operating under someone elses license when I do. It doesn't apply for my purpose and I definately want to be legal.

I have had my ham ticket for nearly 10 years now.
As for study time that just depends on you. I know several that have took the test recently. Some of them only looked over the material a couple of days and then found a test place and went and took the test and passed. There is online practice tests that really help. Just take them till you can consistently pass them. Then go and take the real thing.
Check out www.arrl.org
Lots of good information on the above site.

Study materials are on the way. Can you tell me the maxx video power output without the HAM and with it? I'm curious as to what I can run now until I pass the written.

Don't forget if you are using it for commercial stuff that would be a violation of your ham licenses..
