i agree with you sparx, i mean i fly very tame at my place/work. i mean, what if something goes wrong and you dumb thumb the collective, the dang thing will go ZIPPING(knowing my luck) at SOMEONE or something expensive. i think the worst thing you can do is let someone say, 'FLIP IT!' and you know you cant but you do it anyway. i mean, people really dont understand the power in these little machines. i'd be scared for my life if i ever saw this guy with a 600 size, nay, even 450! someone mentioned he's getting a 500 sized heli? i mean yikes, seriously at least TRY to get better (even on the sim!) to be a safer pilot not just to himself, but to his community!

Come on bro! While I do agree with you and sparx about him not doing that stuff near people....you then go and criticize his flying skills by saying at least TRY to get better? He did flip it multiple times without crashing. Maybe you are way better than him, but he wasn't that bad.

BUT, I will humbly bow out of this right now since I don't know anything about this guys background at all ;) I just hate it when I see people criticize others flying abilities. And again, I agree he did way too much with the spectators next to him.

skarn, i criticize ONLY because of what i've heard from other people about this person. how he doesnt listen to other people's advice(finless) and he just does what he wants, i think you took it in the wrong fashion. in no way am i some fancy pilot, NO WHERE NEAR but i do try to be as safe as i can be. showing off should NOT be a priority (until you're ready:P)

i hope what i said makes a little bit of sense Skarn. again, i ALSO do not know him personally but ONLY of what people have stated.

Vic doesn't listen to anybody. Several of us tried to tell him what he was doing was unsafe and to seek help. Did he listen? Nope. This was made VERY clear about a year ago when Finless had him come to Arbor Park for some personal help.

Vic's "introduction" to HF was a series of pictures and videos of him doing really stupid things INSIDE his apartment. Pictures like main rotor blades embedded in speaker cabinets trailing edge first. Videos of hover attempts inside that resulted in crashes. A "crash" with a spooled up 450 without blades on. A video of him "flying" at the Rose Bowl and crashing close to people walking nearby (With some seriously poor editing BTW) and more.

When called on some of the things he did, he got hostile and called a lot of us "Southern White Racists" and flat out said Finless didn't like Asians. Pretty damned funny 'cuz I think fireup is one of Finless's closest friends and is definitely Asian - as are a lot of the people Finless flies with at Arbor. He's made implied threats to people via PMs, made slanderous remarks about Finless, Will and some of the HF staff and generally been a black spot on the hobby.

He's going to hurt someone. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when. I've seen first hand how quickly he can lose control of a heli and then read later how it was "30 knot winds" when in reality, it was more like 4-6 knot winds.

HF is better for not allowing him here.

Yes bro, I understand now. Like I said, I know nothing of this guy personally but after what you and Skiddz have said, I definitely understand.

I have read a lot about heli safety...everyone should! You guys know how the news media reacts to a story.

It's only going to take one incident to create a stir!

Pay attention to what you are doing with your heli! Don't get stupid in your choice of flying locations!

I fly my 450 at my shop...and at home...BUT...

My flying intent is strictly to be able to put the model exactly where I want it from an altittude of no more than six feet. As a newbee my concentration is on precision flying abilty...nothing else!

At the shop the guys know to be prepared to run for cover if they decide to watch...we're all grown men, and we can kinda figure it may hurt if we get hit! They've been warned that if they get hit I don't want to hear any baby mess. They don't have to watch!

I never fly at home with an audience...I live in a circle and a few neighbors will watch from thier homes...I have already told them if I smack one of thier vehicles or damage anything else I will pay for it.

It's your hobby...no one else's...take responsibilty for it! If you're gonna play there's a chance you're gonna pay...not counting cobbled-up heli parts. :)

The ability to fly model helicopters is for you! You don't need an audience!

It should not be considered entertainment for the public!

If your dream is to, ASAP, be the next Alan Szabo, Jr. JOIN A DAMN CLUB AND SPARE THE PUBLIC YOUR TRIALS AND ERRORS!!!

If your dream is to be the next hotshot 3D wizard, you need to learn the basics first. Control over the heli is paramount. YOU need to fly the helicopter, the helicopter needs to go where YOU put it, and in the attitude YOU want it, not the other way around.

Is there any way I can see some crazy ****** vids (the beggining ones when he was bad). I really want to see what all this hype about ****** is. Does he still have them?

Skiddz

I'm sure he still has 'em, but he pulled 'em from YouTube and Google vids a long time ago - probably 'cuz he was getting BBQ'd with comments from viewers. Very few of his vids stay anywhere and any that are online have comments disabled. Gee, I wonder why??

Heck, Will... he's done the same thing over on RCG, and even created a fake user name on YouTube (impersonating Finless!) just to say rude things about my flying skills by way of comments to my videos. What a strange man.

I am here to tell you that Chris can fly good. He was the first to fly on Friday at Ron Lund's event and he took up a king v3 or whatever it was in 20mph winds. He later went on to fly 3 other helis each day of the event. Chris flys good and safe and has a GREAT time and his wife videos and even sometimes heckles him. You have me and Dan's 100% respect Chris. Sorry off my soapbox, wanted to set the record straight.

Anyway.... Lets try to keep an open mind and encourage this time more than last. If it is not to be it is not to be... but we also affect our outcomes with our approach just like Vic. Please respect your fellow members here on this site and get into the HF vibe. Thank you in advance... now returning to your regularly unscheduled program.
