I have my T-Rex 450 and love it. I also have my Blade CPP that I learned to first hover on, and still have fun bashing it around, but it just feels so weak compared to the 450.
I'm thinking of ditching my CPP frame for something else which can use the "guts" of the CPP. I'm hoping there might be a better micro heli that can use my existing 370 brushless motor / controller, G90 gyro, servos (I destroyed 2 of the stock, so all 3 are upgraded now), AR6100, and 800 mAh batteries. The biggest thing would be to get a powered tail, I'm not too keen on the dual motor setup on the CPP.
Is there anything you would suggest or have done yourself that is similar size to the CPP, that could probably use it's components, but has a belt driven tail?
Thanks!

You may want to check out the JR parkmite. It's about thesize of the BCP but has a belt tail. It's nice, but not cheap. You could put together a TREX for the price of one, but if you are looking for something in that size and cost is not a problem then it might be for you. There is a write up in this months RC Heli mag on it.

I saw a custom dual tail motor setup with upgraded main motor that was "respectable". I personally would just sell it and "move on"

A 370 is too weak to drive a belt tail micro. Below is my converted Honeybee CP2. It uses a Freestyle Belt Mod (www.freestyle-hobby.com) and has a full separates system.

Well, I had my CPP flying again for about 12 hours. I had 1 flight last night testing out the new ESC for the tail motor, an awesome flight this morning, and then I took it out for a flight at lunch. I got about 1 minute of flying around when the tail motor went dead. :arggg: It spun around impossibly fast for about 5-10 seconds until I hit throttle hold, and then dropped like a rock from about 5 ft. Physically, it seems like it came out relatively OK. The tail boom is snapped, and the tail motor broke off the mount. Didn't even bother to see what else might be bent or broken...
So anyways that's it! NO MORE BLADE FOR ME!!! I won't say I regret it, because it was a fun helicopter, and it got me addicted to this hobby (oh, wait, that's probably a bad thing!) I'm not putting any more money into trying to fix it (well directly anyways). It's funny, I spend massive amount's of time, money, and angst trying to keep that little guy going, and then pull out my Trex which just flies perfect every time, no fuss. :dontknow
I'm going to try putting most of the guts of my Blade into a Compy 300. http://www.aero-fever.com/product_info.php?cPath=19&products_id=375
The 370 brushless is probably a little underpowered for this, but we'll see. I realize I've just opened up another avenue to waste my money on, but it should be fun. Plus, when I'm broke, and can't afford to monkey with it any longer, I'll still have the Trex waiting patiently, ready as always to fly.
Cheers!
