leaky backplate ys91?

It seems like the backplate on my ys91 is leaking, not dripping, but it's always wet. I wonder if this is causing my engine to run strangely, it just doesn't seem like the power is there.

any comments? suggestions? Can I make a gasket out of rtv?

You can, or you can get a replacement paper gasket.
I got tired of tearing the paper every time I replaced bearings and went to RTV, no issues in a very long time.
