I went and did it. Purchased a Synergy yesterday. So far this is what I went with for my first "nitro ship"

1. Kit + Hyperformance hub + synergy ball link sizing tool. All from Rick's
2. O.S. .91 SZ-H PH-Hyper w/Pump & Regulator
3. 90 Muscle Pipe 5
4. Arizona Heli Regulator w/ flag switch + 2S Li-Ion battery
5. Airtronics 94758Z Servo Digital Hi-Speed/Torque X 3
6. Hitec HS-6965HB (for throttle servo)
7. TTR1263 Thunder Tiger Carry Master Combo from Jeremy at RCHover
8. Ar7000 Spektrum RX
9. Nitro MultiGov

Still need a header tank/ Main Blades/ and Gyro! Is there anything else I'm missing :?:

I still need to think about picking up some spares but my wallet is still too hot to touch.

If the rest of you are like me it was a calling

Congrats with your purchase!

What gyro do you intend to use on it?

So far I'm torn right down the middle on the 611 or 6100T.
If Youngblood dropped his new gyro down I would buy it.

Kind of waiting for everything else to arrive because this is the one thing I'm just not sure of. What do you recommend and why? (might help the decision)

Also, I'm curious to know how many are using a header tank because of the photo's I have seen, more often than not, no header tank is used. :dontknow

Man I can't wait. I'm smiling already and it still isnt even here yet!!! :D

Have you guys heard of the fuel magnet? That's what I'm going with instead of the header tank. It's a pretty niffty little clunk. Gets every bit of fuel out, everytime.

I'm new to nitro so forgive me if this has been around for awhile

I highly reccomend the Fuel Magnet, for me it's a must have on all of my machines.

Ok, I went with the fuel magnet. Now how about the plumbing what the best set-up and fuel filter for this bad boy? I just realized I have to get some tubing.
Some good pictures would be smooth if any of you can help.

Thanks for all the great help so far. Mike

Sweet looking heli wore-out-pilot!!!!

If you get some time could you post a picture of your plumbing? I'm trying to get an idea on fuel filters and what exactly is needed in that department.

I'm assuming from these three way filters I'm seeing, that people are pulling that plug to re-fill the tank???? Is that right? Does that tube coming from the top of the tank go no-where like for a vent? Man, I'm clueless on this whole Nitro set-up.

That three way you see is the fuel over flow and after each flight that is where you releave the pressure. The line coming from the crank case has the check value about 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches from crank case which goes to the tree way and into the over flow in the tank. I'm using a OS 91 SZH with OMI mod. I will try to get some close up pictures for you tomorrow. I hope this helps some.

It does and thanks for the info. I'm told the motor comes with some options for setting up the fuel/vent lines. Hopefully that will also help because I know all set-up's aren't the same.

Sorry I'm a little late with these I got real busy yesterday. Before you put fuel to crank case insert check valve about 1inch to 1 1/2 inch into fuel line. If you have any questions let me know.

Wore-out-pilot,
Thanks for the pictures!!!! They are great. Where do you pick up the green three ways? Are those the check valves? Also where did you pick up your header tank? Sorry for all the questions but you have been such a big help so far, so I had to ask. Thanks for everyhting. Mike

The T type fuel filters I purchased at www.neogl.com in hong kong where I also purchased some servo's. Are you can get them from hobby stores that carry K&S products. I just found out that Ricks have them also in a clear, don't know if they have them in yellow or green. KSJ419

K & S Fuel shut off clamp & T Type fuel tilters

Item # : 285

Item price: $9.99

The header tank you can get at Ricks part number qukh5510 and comes in four colors.

The check valve is in the fuel line, it is black with a brass end, it is small and the black end goes in first and you shove it up the line about 1 1/2/inches from where yoiu connect it to the crank case. You receive this valve from James Oneal with you purchase the carb mod. for the OS91 SZH

Hope this helps,

Bill

You lost me right here. Is this something I need? This may sound funny but who's James Oneal?

Everything else is crystal clear and a lot of help....Thanks :D

You do not need this mod since you have a OS with the pump already. James Oneal is the person that supplies and makes the Viper Heads, pump mods(which some people think is better than the pump that OS supplies with their engines) , and fuel magnets. James is a great guy. Here is his website. All products that James makes are first class.

http://www.oneals.com/Omitro.html

People that gets the carb mod send in the carb and back plate to him and he installs a pump on the carb drills out the back plate and installs a fuel line fitting, and supplies a small check valve and sends it back with instructions.

I have two with the omi carb mods and one with no pump and no mods(stock) and all are doing great.

Thanks,

Bill
