I am not sure if you guys all saw my post about setting the failsafe and the disaster crash I had back a month or so ago but I just found my problem!!!

While trying to charge my 10S A123 batt today after I flew it, it kept giving me error on the charger and the balancers would not work, so I took a closer look at the connections and the postive lead tab came completley off the battery!

All this time I have been flying with a bad lead on the battery, which would explain the crash I had a few weeks ago, and I got VERY lucky not to have it happen again to me today, flew it for 11 minutes no less.

Got VERY VERY lucky today

Glad that all worked out for you. But I thought this was going to be about you, your wife, and her best friend after a night out drinking.

I'm building packs now, do you think a spot of solder on each tab/cell connection would have prevented it from coming off?

Good question Phil, I am not sure if the tac'ed tabs are up to the task as far as the vibrations that may occur during normal flight, I run a 14S setup in my Trex 600 and have not had a problem after about 20 flights, also these packs have been up in the logo about 15 times each.

A123 recommends against soldering direct to the battery as it can hurt the chemicals and reduce the battery life, but then again every battery manufacturer (Ni-cad NI-MH) say the same thing.

Anything to help secure would be good but be careful of the heat
